Excellent regional specialties of food and wine, excellent service, good value. Depending on the weather, you can dine outside. We ate inside which was very nice.

Had 3 delightful meals here while staying at their hotel. Their dining room was very elegant -- warm ambiance, lovely table settings, and very nice stemware. We started with Austrian bubbly, flavored with elderberry liqueur. My wife ordered the chicken liver parfait with cranberry jelly & a spoon of poppy seed and pear chutney and a casserole of gnocchi in... More

Spectacular breakfast buffet and lovely dinner - enjoyed the rain from inside, but lovely patio for outside dining as well.

This place was not far from the abbey and had a wonderful assortment of pastries, chocolates, tortes and coffees. There is a lovely outdoor spot out front to sit on a sunny day which we enjoyed very much.

This restaurant was part of the hotel next to our hotel. The menu had variety and was very good. We took advantage of the outdoor seating which we enjoyed very much. We had inquired from the proprietor the night before about bike rentals - which the hotel had. The proprietress was so helpful (more so than the tourist information center),... More

Tasty good quality food. The seasonal mushroom salad was superb. The pike perch and bream were very fresh and delicious. The deserts were , however , just average. The curd strudel was tough and drowned in custard. The service was fine but not brilliant.

Frankly, this was the highlight of our stay in Melk. The Abbey was just a pleasant diversion in between meals. Local ingredients presented in a wonderfully balanced and imaginative way. The salads were amazing and the apple strudel was heavenly. A great escape from the traditional heavy Austrian fare. The restaurant and the hotel are owned and managed by the... More

We stopped here for lunch after cruising up the Wachau from Krems. It was nice place with decent food (although a bit pricey). Standard but modern Austrian cuisine. Nice place to sit out at the front with a view to the Abbey and also a garden terrace at the back.
