Quaint, small place. Very clean and waitstaff is eager to please.

Outstanding quality. Nice friendly waitstaff. Patient for those that either don't speak German or are novices. Pricing very reasonable. Their wine is superb, highly recommend the red made with Blaufrankisch Grapes! Goes down smooth, packs a punch.

Most tourists in Eisenstadt appear to eat their way up and down the Hauptstrasse, provided they venture beyond the two establishments in front of the Esterhazy chateau at all. Heimchen lies a few steps away from the main route, beyond the cathedral, but being a smallish town, everything in Eisenstadt is in walking distance. Do take the extra steps, it's... More

A good Austrian Gasthaus, i.e. a pub with home cooking, but in this case really excellent home cooking, at reasonable prices, and good sized portions, with a strong Hungarian influence, and (when I visited) a local clientele. Service was good for a restaurant of this type. The waiter sounded Hungarian, spoke good German and English. They closed at 9pm but we... More
