Wonderful selection

We had lunch in the café at Petek's. Two cheese filled pastries followed by baklava and coffee. An excellent meal sitting on the terrace near the city walls. The shop attached is amazing- so many different cakes, pastries, chocolates ,Turkish delight in boxes or cut from giant cylinders (you can... read more

The place is usually packed with tourists, so service may take longer than you anticipate. Located right across Othello's tower, at the heart of the historical district. Try Turkish sweets.

I am basing my review purely on the quality of the baklava, which is the best I have found on the island so far. I have tried baklava from several bakeries in the south and found that every offering was disappointingly soggy throughout, oversweet and too scant on nuts. Petek baklava is lovely and crisp and flaky on top and... More

Im glad we found this place. An amazing assortment of pastries and chocolates. We had to take a box of baclava to go. Best place we tried in the town. Diaper changing room was a nice touch and rarely seen in cyprus.

A lovely place to sit, have since of the local confectionery and a coffee or a beer of two. The 1st floor terrace is lovely on a sunny day. Well worth a visit. I'm not sure the turtles in the fountain look very happy to be there. They could do with some more facilities.

He said "I ll tell them". So I paid for the bad coffee. It is also quite expensive. Decoration is... More

I love this place. I visited North cyprus over many years as a teenager and Petek is by far the best place to go for ice cream! They also do fab confectionary foods and teas/coffees. I will always recommend this place to anyone visiting North cyprus. Go and you will enjoy!

I was visiting Famagusta and had delayed lunch because there was so much to see. So I was tired and famished by the time I found Petek's. I loved everything about it : the beautiful decor, the staggering choice in food, pastries, ice-cream,... I ate and ate and ate (the banana cake was my favourite), drank tea sat next to... More

This was our second visit and just as good, with a huge choice of cakes and sweets. The coffee was nothing special but very happy with the cakes. The upper terrace is is great place to relax and watch the world go by.

After sightseeing is nice to take a seat in the shadow, indoors or outdoors, and eat some homemade ice-cream in different flavours. Or maybe eat a meal, or drink a coffee, or just sit and watch the turtles lounging underneath the indoor fountain. Good location, all tourists pass by once or twice when in Famagusta.
