I would rate the food as very good Japanese food, well presented, but nothing spectacular. I went there a couple of times at lunch time, other than enjoying each other's company we found the ambiance rather boring. The personnel could show a bit more enthusiasm when serving or explaining the various dishes. Having the bill at the end took ages... More

After 3 weeks waiting, my expectation was a little bit too high. Nice place, but hey, I'm here for the food. Very average sushi, cold.... Oh come on, can't write any more

Visited Kamakura with my partner. Managed to get a table without reservation (we were lucky)! Great sashimi, ordered their special sashimi set, which was not on the menu. Clean cut and fresh. Owner of the restaurant was very friendly though the waitress that served us was quite pushy and insisted that we should order starter though we mentioned that we... More

We had again a great time at Kamakura. The food was delicious, perfect service with great attention to detail. Finishing with an interesting Sake tasting! Surely still the best Japanese in Luxembourg and around! I don´t understand some comments on Tripadvisor. Kamakura is a “restaurant gastronomique”, not a cheap Sushibar! Like in every city in Europe, you can find Asian... More

Let's say that in Luxemburg you can't find the best japanese restaurants. Kamakura is ok, correct sushi, correct sake and that's all.

If you have no idea what japanese cuisine is and nothing to compare it to...then you might actually think this place is good. Everything was overpriced considering the quality and selection. The sashimi pieces were decent but not a large selection...but the rest from the mediocre soup, greasy bland tempura, and terrible cold, dry starters to bland rolls to overpriced... More

In a very picturesque neighborhood with a lot of restaurants this is probably the one you will not notice. Inside you get directly to the core of Japanese culture: Understatement, minimalism, airy service, focus to the essentials. The menu has to offer a really wide selection of Japanese cuisine. The service is effective with not a lot of fanfare, I... More

Severely disappointed by this restaurant. Do not waste your time or money. This review is so short because there is not one good thing you can say about this restaurant. I do not understand why they have a Michelin Bib Gourmand - this is supposed to signify excellent food at affordable prices but the food was not good and it... More

It was not the first time we've been in the fantastic restaurant where you have a guarantee of quality and fresh dishes. In addition to the exquisite taste that makes you feel like you're walking on air, the meals are presented in a very inventive manner (you eat with your eyes)! We particularly liked the tempuras, the kobe beaf, the... More
