Fabulous cuisine, fabulous wine and fabulous service. Every course was a delight over lunch last week. In particular the amuse bouche Japanese style was fabulous, the home made ice cream and the freshest sushi I've tasted in Luxembourg. I've never been able to get a reservation previously and I know why. Definitely worth reserving in advance.

We went to Kamakura for a special occasion as we had read wonderful things about it, however had mixed reviews from friends. I will start with the good things about the restaurant. The staff were friendly and spoke good English and were well informed about the food. The house ice cream I had for dessert was lovely, 3 balls, green... More

I've been going to this restaurant for years. It is an original Japanese restaurants, not just a "European Suchi" place. The owner, takes great pains to, introduce you to real Japanese cuisine and offers regular comments. Every time I go, I get the feeling that he is really trying to introduce you to new traditional dishes. The food is excellent.... More

I was recommended this restaurant by my client, who is a regular at Kamakura. I was told it was extremely difficult to get a booking as the restaurant as it has a limited number of tables. I managed to get a reservation, and got there a bit early, but was still seated. The menu was a not your typical japanese... More

This restaurant is the most overestimated sushi restaurant I have ever experienced, the location is ugly, very common with no charme and minimum level of atmosphere. The food is without any flavour, probably I can make a better one. All plates were anonymous and without any caracter. Really nothing special, all vegetables were separated from the other stuff with no... More

We heard that this was the best place in Luxembourg for Sushi and Japanese. After some failed attempts at making a reservation, we finally made it. As the evening was extremely hot and the restaurant was even more so, we opted for the Sushi for two platter. We were extremely disappointed in the small size of the "platter" for the... More

Hajime, the owner is certainly the most frenchy of all Japanese you could find, including parisian best manors. Discrete, he will make you feel comfortable at first sight. As his place, which was quite criticised in the first years because it wasn't traditional and didn't serve sushi, it became with the years THE insider tip in Luxembourg. Most of the... More

We were a party of three dining at Kamakura during my recent visit to friends who lived in Luxembourg. We chose the ‘tasting menu’ at 49 euros which offered a variety of Japanese dishes. There were also other ‘tasting menus’, a wide-ranging ‘a la carte’ menu as well as daily Chef’s suggestions. The food was very authentic, high quality and... More

Went for a nice dinner on a Saturday night. The services were good though the menu is only available in Japanese or French, so be warned if you don't speak one of those two languages! The staff, however, speaks decent English. We went for the tasting menu which was 49 Euro per person. The presentation of the dishes was good... More
