Always my first choice for lunch in Valletta

Always consistant, really really good food, buzzy atmosphere, not cheap, but I love it. Wines are extremely reasonably priced. Do book ahead as it is only open for lunch, Monday to Fridays, pity really.

We came by recommend of the hotel staff but is was very disappointing experience. Very cold staff, No menu for food/drinks/wine/anything, no hello for greeting. Looks like a restaurant only for locals. tourists - stay away

So a friend of a friend recommended this restaurant and advised us to book ahead. I believe they are only open for lunch. We booked a few days ahead and managed to get a spot for lunch on Thursday. We still had to wait a bit for a table because it was packed (mostly with local Maltese, lots of business... More

No wine list. No menu. Recommended by Maltese friends I looked forward to the experience. Totally disappointed as this restaurant caters to its own local clientele and obviously is uninterested in non locals patronage. After being offered a very inferior Gozo wine, which we declined we were offered a couple of alternative options - and selected the better of the... More

Got lucky with a table for lunch here and enjoyed it immensely. There is a great buzz to the place, gorgeous bread and cheese to nibble while you wait for more food. The charming waiters list the specials for the day till your face lights up and that's your order sorted. Food is good, and the atmosphere even better.

Right in the middle of Valletta but off the main roads, this bustling little trattoria opens for lunch only. It seems to have a faithful clientele many of who seem to be business customers so booking is essential and early is probably good too. If you like genuine Mediterranean food, this is for you. Even before your order, delicious Maltese... More

we had a great time but I can understand why some may have not. They don't fuss over you they occasionally shout across the restaurant and there is a hussle and bussle to the place. However we ate what they recommended. Some pasta to start please.... Surprise they brought out ravioli on a big dish and we helped ourselves. Delicious.... More

We hadn't eaten in Da Pippo since 2008, we returned as we recalled it was the best meal we'd had not only in Malta, but in Europe. We were not disappointed. We were served complimentary olives and sun dried tomatoes, Maltese peppered goat's cheese, Maltese sausage in a warm ragu and Maltese bread rolls with olive oil for dipping. Had... More
