Small, but good. Nice ambience and service and good food. Not cheap, but value for money. I like the menu on the blackboard, and the informal atmosphere.

Had a very pleasant lunch in this small rustic restaurant (approx. 30 covers) just a couple of minutes from Palace Square in the centre of Valletta. Reception was genuinely pleasant and friendly, and service was attentive but not intrusive throughout. There was no printed menu, as it changes daily, according to what is fresh and available in the market. Everything... More

Ambrosia is one of our favourite restaurants in Malta's. Yes, it has a limited menu like all the better restaurants around the world and the chef does everything on that limited menu very well. We tried and loved everything on the menu as we eat there on a regular basis when we visit Malta. And like all good things in... More

The number of tables is quite small, so it is best to reserve. The menu is not displayed outside, which might be off-putting for some, but it is quite wide ranging and changes on a regular basis according to availability. Great portions and excellent quality served by pleasant and friendly staff. Interesting décor and great atmosphere. Perhaps, a little more... More

The food here was wonderful! the service was good, didn't have to wait long for our meals either. It is more expensive, but I don't mind paying more if the meals are great and these were!

This place was recommended to us by our tour guide as one that wasn't overrun by tourists. Ambrosia didn't disappoint. The menu was varied and there were many delicious choices. Service was quick enough. The wine pour was a little scant but I lived with it. Overall a thumbs up!

We arrived for lunch through a recommendation from our landlord - and what a surprise it was! This charming family establishment was almost as if we were being entertained in the chef's own home - the cosy ambience, the decor and the friendly welcome we got from Jane and her delightful assistant was a great start, and with the blackboard menu... We happened upon this restaurant after failing to get a table nearby. However we weren't disappointed. The food was a good selection with attentive service although slightly contradictory, at times slow. The food was good and clearly effort had been applied here. I opted for the carpaccio of tuna followed by stuffed quail and walnut. The former was delicious and... More

At the time of writing this is rated the 50th highest in Valletta. I have not tried all the others, but I would be amazed if there really are 49 better than this. I have visited twice, once 4 years ago and again in April, both times it was the best meal I/we had in Malta. The choice is limited... More

A charming place to eat, the food and service excellent. It was our first night and had only arrived tow hours earlier, but we chose right and went back again before our holiday was over.
