Not as good as I expected

Ate here whilst in Malta on business as I had heard good reviews. The setting is fantastic as is the ambience. The service was good as was the wine list - varied and something there for most palates. I thought the food choices for all courses was somewhat limited and dare i say it, over-rated. I... read more

We found this restaurant by mistake . It was a fabulous mistake ! We found it because we saw them from across the bridge . It was hard to find them because they are located underground . The restaurant is part of the fortress and is well preserved ! The food and service are exquisite !!! I had the blue... More

Great menu selection though slow service. Prices were fair. Good quality food and portion were reasonable. Highly recommended in Valletta.

Rampila is white table cloth dining at its finest. Lunch was a unique dining experience with impeccable service by the wait staff. Although the lunch menu has a relatively small; but the food was sublime. The fresh bread, olive oil and other appetizers were the perfect starter for a great lunch. This restaurant was hard to get to, but worth... More

The restaurant is situated under a cavalier (Fort) on the left as you enter Valletta - a little tricky to find. There is a terrace that must be fantastic in the summer. We ate in a tunnel that slopes gently down from the street. Lots of atmosphere - although it was a very cold evening and the place could have... More

Rampila is 'fine dining' European food served in a unique historic setting - a tunnel within the ramparts of the Knights of St Johns fortifications of Valetta. It is adjacent to the stunning new Renzo Piano gate to the city, on a quiet corner. The service is careful and attentive. Our food ranged from the very good (goats cheese ravioli... More

Wet and raining in Valletta so it was an adventure to find the entrance to Rampila in the dark after seeing it from the main gate. Food was excellent, service exemplary and it had stopped raining when we went home. Definitely a great night.

The quality of the food was excellent. This is my second visit and I was not disappointed What the night lacked was service. We ordered our main courses but only one of us ordered a soup as a starter. We waited and were served a free entree which was delicious. Later, the waiter came with our main dishes. He forgot... There are three distinct seating areas in this unusual but attractive restaurant. Given it was a January evening the terrace was not available. We were shown to a table in the 'tunnel' as we'd reserved, but which felt a bit desolate on our visit, due to so few guests, so requested a move into the bistro area which proved to... More
