We found this gem by chance as many establishments are closed on Sundays. We weren't sure what to expect but were pleasantly surprised from start to finish. The restaurant is found by walking down a set of stone stairs and is in a tunnel originally built by the Knights of St John year 1570. Once you walk through the museum... More

Excellent food - the best we have tasted in Malta so far. Very friendly waiter service. Quite difficult to find as you have to go through the old walls to reach the balcony. It's quite expensive, but well worth our 5 star rating.

I guess this restaurant has the most spectacular location in Malta, as it is located inside Valletta's city wall, with the terrace on the outside, surrounded by the city walls at three sides. You can easily see it from the bridge at the main entrance of Valletta. And from the moment you enter the restaurant you understand that the service... More

The location of this restaurant is great, tucked into the wall of the city. The staff were very friendly and service very good. I was a bit disappointed by the food though. Had a fish soup which was quite bland although had reasonable chunks of fish and mussels in it. For main had rabbit in a thyme sauce with side... More

Rampila is a fantastic little restaurant built into the city wall of Valletta. Both the interior restaurant and the terrace have a wonderful ambiance and there is even a little museum attached to the restaurant depicting how life in Valletta used to be. We ate the beef risotto and the seabass – both were delicious. If you're visiting Valletta this... More

Rampila is a great place for a romantic dinner. Their compact terrace with a nice view towards Valletta bridge looks especially great in the evening when the lights are on. Food was good and service was excellent. Strongly recommended!

Had lunch on the terrace at Rampila, the view and setting are amazing looking out onto the city walls and gate; inside is just as impressive as set in the old wall tunnels. Food and service were great, highlight for me was the rabbit stew. Worth a visit and would return next time I'm in Malta.

Our hotel concierge had reserved us a table but the restaurant phoned to cancel because of a gas leak so it was some days before we finally ate here. What a treat! Had fillet steak risotto with wild mushrooms to start - very rich but perfect. Boyfriend had tuna and I had sea bass for main course. Had a perfect... More
