We ate at Ta'Kolina (rabbit) which was very good. I am giving Ta'Kolina an excellent as I have celiac sprue disease and they were extremely helpful and accommodating. We will go there again.
This was awesome ! While I myself am not Maltese, my husband is so I have enjoyed my fair share of Maltese home cooked meals. It was such a delight to find a restaurant in Sliema that was exactly like Mummas...even to the spices used on the potatoes ! Very attentive service our our daughter, good recommendations and explanations of... More
We've been there on Sunday evening and sit without reservation, however it was busy. I'd give 5 of 5 for the atmosphere and service, but 4 of 5 for the food. Cold octopus salad and swordfish were quite average. And worth separate mentioning: very friendly for kids!
I have to agree with a previous reviewer that this restaurant should be higher up the pecking order. Everything just comes together to make this restaurant a truly superb Maltese dining experience. The rustic decor, the holiday atmosphere, the local wines from Gozo, the freshly cooked traditional style food and the friendly attentive service all came together to make some... More
Went twice in a one week visit from England and got in without booking both times. Busy with nice relaxed atmosphere. Restaurant only 5 mins from our apartment so ideal choice. Very good food but half a notch below the very best we had. Service good without being "outstanding". Good value house wines. Not much on desert menu but that... More
We ate in Ta'Kolina twice during our ten night stay. The food was well presented, well cooked, fresh, and the service was good. The food was a good mixture of Maltese and Mediterranean, and indicated as such on the menu. Trip advisor ratings have this restaurant punching below it's true weight
We spent a week in Sliema and went to Ta'Kolina three times. Delicious home cooking, fresh fish and local dishes at very reasonable prices. The service at table was delightful, friendly, efficient and yet discreet. There is a pretty, if small, terrace for dining overlooking the Sliema Promenade and sea. I believe only open in the evening, but really worth... More
Having eaten here before on previous visits, I am happy to say that my earlier memories of the restaurant were not mistaken. . I found the Special menu, which varies quite often, gave me more than sufficient choice of local food. This and a glass or two of Gozo red and I was well happy. The service was great and... More
Been here a number of time over the years and have always had good old fashioned Maltese type food. A little disappointed this time. I had a traditional Maltese platter, the Bragioli was quite good but the rabbit was very poor. My wife wasn`t that impressed with her steak either. Still a nice place with friendly staff - just felt... More
