Consistent family run Redtaurant is a safe bet

It's been a while since we dined at La Cuccagna and we were pleased to see that the excellent standard has been maintained. Since our last visit La Cuccagna has added fresh local fish to it's menu. The fresh fish display offered a great selection of really fresh fish.

We tried to go on the Monday and unfortunately it was closed but we did manage to go on the Tuesday and it was well worth the wait. The food was extremely tasty and the service was great, it was very busy however and sew did have to wait around 15 mins for s table so it is advisable to... More

If you wanna eat fresh fish or pizza you can pay a visit to La Cuccagna and you cannot regret the visit. The pizza is not the typical italian pizza, but it's crunchy and well baked. We had fried calamari as a starter and they were well fried and with a lot of pepper... Spicy but full of flavour. Definitely... More

We both had a pizza and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Service was excellent and the staff friendly. We had a bottle of sparkling rosé which was served perfectly chilled. Recommended.

Lovely restaurant a little concealed on a side street and below ground level provides excellent dining. It has a family run atmosphere , with good attention to detail. Staff are friendly and efficient. The food is really fresh and tasty with authentic Italian flavours oozing through. Really good value for money too. Well worth seeking out!

We had read many good reviews before going and none had oversold! The place was frequented by locals and tourists alike and all were treated as equals. My daughter and I both went for a pizza and my husband went for the traditional rabbit. All were delicious!

We were initially not sure about this place. It looks nice and rustic from the outside but looked quiet inside... We had nothing to worry about, it quickly filled up with both tourists and locals. VERY warm welcome, feels like a nice family run place. The food was very tasty and reasonably priced. My only issues were: 1. PLEASE -... More

Maybe we just were the unlucky guests of the day, but to be honest: if I would have eaten my pizza, I wouldn't have had teeth in my mouth now. So I didn't. And I am glad I didn't. And I will not return. My wife will not return either but somehow she managed to eat half of her pizza.... More

We visited La Cuccagna whilst we were staying in St Julians bay. It was a restaurant we visited a number of years ago when we were last in Malta and nothing has changed, pleasant but simple surroundings, a great atmosphere and attentive service. We opted for the Pizza (what else!) and it was great, oh, and a carafe of wine... More

Always obliging and helpful. We go back time and time again because we know we can have a good meal at a very reasonable price. It might get very busy at times but it is worth waiting for. Only criticism is that tables are quite close to each other.
