We discovered this restaurant by accident, on our first visit to Malta in 2000 and never fail to visit it on at least one occasion whenever we return to the island. It is family run and you are made to feel part of the owner's extended family as soon as you walk through the door. The restaurant is always full,... More

Never a let down. Good food, value for money. Friendly and quick service. Obviously very popular with the locals and tourists too. Added bonus they cook their pizza's for gluten free diets to. Just choose your pizza and tell the waiter. No reservation............just turn up early. They will always try and fit you in.

This is our go-to restaurant, never fails to impress, we always have a good meal there. It's popular and there's justification for that, the food is always great. Suggest the meat or fish dishes, thought the pizzas are definitely worth mention. Expect families and a staff willing to accommodate. It's definitely worth a reservation.

As I need gluten free food this restaurant was excellent, the pizzas were good, the service was fairly okay, although given it was the final of the World cup some of the waiters were more interested in the football than serving customers. Only issue is we wanted to go back on Monday night, however this restaurant is closed on Mondays.

The service was second to none, food was excellent, instead of going once or twice we ended up going every night we could. They made us feel welcome every time. Waiters are friendly, food is cooked to your liking, if it's not on the menu then ask and they will try to make it. The only downside was they are... More

It's sometimes difficult or awkward as a single traveller to enter restaurants. La Cuccagna made me feel welcome and wanted. The service was superb and the food top notch. I ordered fried calamari as a starter followed by seafood pesto pasta both excellent. Tip. Malta portions are huge. Ask for a smaller portion and they will oblige. I never completed... More
