Close to the museum of Toys, needs more signs and advertising. Good, tasty food and delicious smells of fresh baked bread, pizza etc. menu a little unusual, homely and cosy inside, good inexpensive local wine and tables outside too. opening times seem a bit erratic... probably seasonal so worth ringing to check particularly for lunch.

First night in Xaghra, Gozo and this was the only "restaurant" we could find in the dark. I wish we'd stayed in. Initially we sat outside but it was getting chilly so we went inside. We're no snobs but the place looked like it hadn't seen a duster in 75yrs or more, and a lick of paint in many more.... More

Tal-Furnar is a bakery by day and a restaurant by night. We ate here three times on our recent holiday in Xaghra - we booked every time as it get busy in summer. You eat on the pavement outside and the food is excellent; the pizzas and bread cooked in the wood fired oven. The friendly owners (daughter and father)... More

One problem with some restaurants in Gozo is that you can have a brilliant meal one day and a mediocre one the next but that doesn't apply to this restaurant. It's consistenty good but be aware of very large portions of the Maltese specialities. Go hungry! Also great value and friendly service. Outside eating only in the summer months and... More

And accommodating throughout! A great dining experience with lovingly prepared food and friendly staff...all seating is on the pavement and all the better for it...I loved the mixed fish platter, calamari to die for...! Pity we only found it on our last night...so top tip is don't leave it until your last night to go!!!

This amazing little business is a bakery by day and a restaurant by night! The food was delicious with many choices for starters and mains. The staff were extremely friendly and efficient and sitting outside on the road side added to the experience. Prices are extremely reasonable considering the quality of the food served and portion sizes. This is a... More

Excellent meal, the traditional cooked meat is a must. We were a large group and all of the traditional meat dishes were tried and finished off. The sauce that the meat was served in was delicious, the roast potatoes were best I have had. The service from the staff was excellent. Being a large group we did book a table,... More

Visited here last night for a birthday meal with my family. Squeezed us in even though we hadn't reserved (thanks, we will next time!). Kids loved the garlic bread that was swiftly brought, and we enjoyed pizzas and pasta. Seriously good food with unique flavour from the oven (7yo loved seeing it, thank you!) and recommended. Wine was good too.... More
