We stayed in Nadur in September and tried several restaurants in Marsalforn. Having been approached by the owner as we walked past, we ate at Ta' Pennellu - it was a big mistake ! The staff did not seem interested (the waitress seemed to deliberately avoid the customers' gazes !) so it took ages to order the food and for... More

Stayed in Marsalforn for 5 weeks again this summer and had dinner with the family (15 of us) at Ta Penellu on numerous occasions. Food, service and overall environment was always exceptional. Would highly recommend to anyone and look forward to going back on my next visit.

We had an excellent meal here. The seafood pasta was superb and the rib eye steak on of the best we've ever had. The service was very good and the setting just right for chilling and watching the world go by.

This restaurant right by the seafront offered a good choice of well-cooked food. As you get complementary bruschetta, we found the pasta as a starter was enough for a main meal, so the bill was not a horrible shock!

The restaurant is in a nice location and the food was ok but the service was very poor. It wasnt that busy but it took well over an hour to get 4 pizzas - the thin ones that take 5 minutes in the oven. We asked a couple of waiters - those whose attention we were able to attract, ie... More

A power cut on Gozo forced us to forgo the restaurant we had booked and find one that had its own generator and thus was able to operate normally. I appreciate that this meant that Ta Pennellu was unexpectedly busy. However, there is no excuse for inedible food. My pasta carbonara was just that! I left almost all of it... More

We went to this restaurant by recommendation. After being there, i felt like take away the food would be the best...from my point of view, the food is very tasteful and nicely presented. We had fresh fish and some starters. This was great but the rest...i dont know. First after serving the starter i had to ask twice for the... More

We had dinner here several times during our five week stay in Gozo. Both the food and service were excellent every time. Would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Marsalforn Gozo. Many thanks to Tony and his staff.

Excellent ambience, attentive service without intrusion, usually at first by the owner Tony himself. Specializes in local produce where possible, with the best ingredients, and local fresh fish (no farmed imported bass, salmon etc.) All food prepared at order and none precooked. Fish soup par excellence. Some unusual and delicious sweets/puddings, prepared at Ta Penellu (not bought in). Good choice of... More

All I can say is, if Gordon Ramsey visits this restaurant, he'll be steaming into that kitchen and bawling them out. They claim fresh pasta, but that is complete bollocks. Even my lay palate can tell the difference between fresh pasta and dried pasta. Also I can tell if it's undercooked dry pasta, having done it several times myself! The... More
