We stopped here for Sunday Lunch on the spur of the moment. I have rarely experienced such excellent service, the food was very nice and the decor was just right. We were a party of 5, and were all very happy with the experience. What more can I say.

Fantastic food, superb service and great place. Drove pass the mendip inn a few times while we were up in the area, looks very nice from outside, decide to come there on our wedding anniversary. The food was amazing the soup was lovely and my husband Brie in battered out of this world, mains and deserts were superb. Will be... More

This pub has recently been taken over, and they are still recruiting staff, but had a great evening meal there last Friday. Liking comfortable chairs we did need to find some with a bit of padding, but once settled, had a surprisingly good 3 course meal. I say surprisingly, as since the take over we'd heard mixed reports, but now... More

We decided to have a look at somewhere different in Somerset outside of our traditional haunts. Great interior, friendly service and great food. My husband had ribs - that the waiter apologised for - they were so tender the meat fell off the bone on route to the table (never apologise for tender meat I say!) And I had a... More

A welcome respite from a long diversion, the pub looks great and the menu sound good too although there is no hint whether the food is fresh and home cooked or out of the freezer. However, the Apple and Parsnip soup tasted like Apple sauce from a jar and it was impossible to eat a whole bowl full, indeed my... More

Stopped for a quick pub lunch on the way home from Bristol Airport and were delighted with this lovely refurbished pub. Great menu, friendly staff and a delicious lunch.

We arrived late afternoon (on our way home from a day at the seaside) because we noticed a big play apparatus in the gardens, very handy when you have 11 children with you! The staff were really helpful, service was great and they didn't bat an eyelid at serving 19 people a late lunch. It's a classy place and I... More

The Mendip Inn offers good quality food in country pub surroundings. The Sunday lunch is value for money as are many of the choices on the menu. For special occasions the restaurant side is upmarket and food cooked to order. Unrushed at tension and a pleasant atmosphere.

Four of us enjoyed Sunday lunch the beef was very tender, although sliced very thinly! The owner seemed rather gruff without a smile or pleasantries, his ? wife made up for him. Delicious desserts.
