Description: A beautiful Jacobean manor house deep in the Devon countryside,...
A beautiful Jacobean manor house deep in the Devon countryside, Lewtrenchard Manor offers luxury dining in a sublime setting. Dating back to the 1600s, the Manor has an interesting and varied history, a fact that can be seen in every nook and cranny throughout the hotel and dining rooms. One of the finest restaurants in the county, the Lewtrenchard Manor restaurant is overseen by Chef Patron Jason Hornbuckle who learned his trade under the watchful eyes of some of Londons most respected chefs in high quality city establishments. Here, Hornbuckle has enthusiastically created a menu that makes the most of the best Devonshire produce available while employing the methods and flavour combinations of chic modern European cuisine, earning the restaurant three AA Rosettes. Lively and relaxed, Lewtrenchard Manor is a superb place in which to indulge in the very best food and, indeed, delightful wines from the extensive cellar of old and new world labels.

Some members of my family and I went to Lewtrenchard for Christams dinner. The ambience was wonderful, the staff were welcoming and the food was very good except for the fact that Lewtrenchard's way of catering for my gluten-free diet was to just tell me I couldn't have certain things. The meal was supposed to begin with canapes and it did... More

We have stayed at Lewtrenchard Manor for a couple of nights three years ago as a break between Christmas and New Year . We had a wonderful time and fantastic food. So this Christmas Day 2015 , I thought how wonderful it would be to return to Lewtrenchard for Christmas lunch. What a disaster. We arrived at 1.45 pm for... More

Lewtrenchard Manor has an excellent reputation locally, and in our opinion deservedly so. We went there for dinner just before Christmas. The hotel was decorated very tastefully with a huge Christmas tree in reception and roaring log fires in the communal areas. The staff were welcoming and there was no sense of being rushed. But the food was the main... More

It really was an awful day but we had booked lunch the week before Christmas. So pleased we made the effort. We thought the setting would really look good resplendent in the Christmas decorations and we were not disappointed. Installing the tree into the stairwell must have taken military precision. The ambiance of the place is a delight, not formal... More

I have just had a wonderful champagne afternoon tea at Lewtrenchard Manor. Sitting by a log fire in an old manor house, looking out at the winter sun shining through the mullioned windows, sipping champagne and eating exquisite scones and cakes - what more do you want! The setting is delightful, the staff are courteous and efficient and the food... More

I was taken here by some girlfriends for my 50th and it was wonderful. The food was amazing, the service perfect and the surroundings spectacular. The three course menu was actually seven courses. I would not hesitate in recommending to eating here as the food was so delicious and beautifully presented.

The building has the most cosy feel, the architecture is to die for Giving a most delightful homely feel , over the last couple of years The food has improved and service is very good. Some staff gave inappropriate comments which were quiet insulting which is a shame because most of them including the owners were welcoming and very efficient... More

Stopped in for lunch and enjoyed very special delightfully prepared dishes which would not be out of place in a Michelin Starred establishment. Service is top notch and the wine list very impressive. Highly recommended.
