The setting is that of a huge tent. The food was really good and tasty. The service was fast and efficient. They gave us so many kinds of dishes to taste. The houmous was delicious and I am not a fan of houmous.

We stopped here as a group after visiting the shepherd's field. The staff was great, and the food even better. They had these sunken tables with little benches around them. There was more food than we could eat as a group. Loved it all.

Lots of restaurants operate in the area of Beit-Lehem and Beit-Sahour. Most of them serve similar food: lebanese style. However, only at few or even very few you can really enjoy a good quality food, good environment and atmosphere. The place itself is very spacious and provides a very generous sitting which can accommodate for approx 250 people in the... More

I dined here as part of an organized tour group, prior to visiting Shepherds' Field and the Church fo the Nativity. Not only was the food excellent, but the side dishes were varied and immediately refilled. The meats were cooked to perfection and flavored well. I also tried my first Palestinian beer (Taybeh). The food is enough to recommend this... More

From the moment you walk down the stairs the atmosphere is awesome. Pleasant staff lead you to large tables which are laid with salads you are then served fresh pitta breads and any drinks you may require. Then after you have filled up on salad and pitta they then arrive with chicken and lamb kebabs and chips... All i can... More

I've eaten all over Israel and this place is far and away one of the best. Most restaurants in Bethlehem are the typical schwarma, falafel places that have tolerable food. This place was excellent and I will go there again!

The Grotto restaurant has it all, ambiance, beautify view, warm staff and delicious food. The chef prepares his dishes with love and it comes out in the flavor of the food. If you savor food make this a must stop when visiting Bethlehem.

This is a vast, open plan restaurant, on a hillside with a view across the valley, apparently overlooking the 'shepherds fields' of Christmas Biblical fame. The tables are large and square with four cushioned benches around each, and the ceiling is draped with cloth, perhaps as if to replicate a Bedouin tent. When I was there, there was a large... More

While we were in Bethleem this summer, we were driven by our guide to the Grotto Restaurant. Despite the fact that it was during Ramadan and that we were there at an odd hour, the food was excellent, fresh and very tasty. When we thought that we were done, then came plateful of meats! Almost too much, we could not... More

This restaurant overlooks the "shepherds fields" near Bethlehem. This is where it is said the angels visited the shepherds to proclaim Jesus' birth. We had lunch here before visiting Bethlehem. It was very enjoyable. The setting is wonderful. The food was plentiful and outstanding. The service was also great.
