The nicest Coffee Shop and Bakery I've visited anywhere in the world

This place should be on your list of places to visit next time you are in Reykjavik. The man who runs it is a wizard with chocolate, everything looks and tastes fantastic. I was lucky enough to be shown the bakery itself where all the food is prepared and made, its spotlessly clean and well... read more

Was advised to try this place by the hotel and had seem other review of the hotel we stayed at recommending it. Visited for a snack and had snickers cake, at first I was a bit unsure about the taste but as I got used to it I realised it was lovely. The cafe and shop are are beautifully presented.

As a frequent visitor to Iceland, one of my last stops before leaving Reykjavik for the airport is Mosfellsbakari at Haaleitsbraut 58-60. I purchase several small bags of their freshly made vinarbraud, muffins, cheese and ham rolls, and sometimes a sandwich as well. I love the looks I get on the plane of "where did he find that goodie?", since... More

In his two bakeries in Reykjavik and Mosfellsbær, chocolatier Haflidi offers handmade treats that are truly amazing. Select different sizes of beautiful boxes or handpick your own. If your in Iceland for easter your really in luck because he makes easter eggs that are truly a work of art. I have even sent one to a friend in the US.... More

What keeps my wife and me going when we're in Iceland is a good bakari, and we've found several. When we arrive at Keflavik around 6:30 am on the red-eye from Boston, our first stop is Mosfellsbakari, the one at Háholti 13-15, 270 Mosfellsbæ. Go left at the Highway 1 roundabout, past the N1 gas station, and left again at... More

We walked a little way from our hotel, The Hilton for this place, a little disappointed, in that it was expensive and did not have much choice for us as vegetarians. the place is attractive though and ok if you are a meat eater.

Let me put it this way: we live about two steps away from a city bakery in Reykjavík, Kornið, and we would rather get into the car and drive to either of Mosfellsbakarí's two locations (Háaleitisbraut 58-60, 108 Reykjavík or Háholti 13-15, 270 Mosfellsbæ) than waste our money on mediocre breads and pastries at Kornið. My partner grew up on... More

We visited the Mosfellsbakari while on a short trip to Iceland with family over half term. We were trying to avoid the €25 per head charge for breakfast in the hotel and wanted somewhere with nice pastries, coffee and chairs to eat in. The Mosfellsbakari was really close to the hotel (Hilton Nordica) and Miklabraut, so good if you are... More

We came upon this bakery by chance and decided to give it a try for some coffee and something to eat, not knowing what to expect. It was truly great. It was like a cosy little coffee room with a little bakery in the middle. The coffee itself was of great quality and it was just not possible to choose... More

We were looking for a bakery in Reykjavik, and Mosfellsbakeri recieved praise everywhere as the best bakery. Our expectations were high and our disappointment even higher. First of all it's not in the city center. The map shown here in TripAdvisor is wrong, it's in Haaleitisbraut 58, not in Hjalmholt. We had a hard time finding it and walked several... More
