The drinks are bar none

We got three things of the small rolls and some drinks as a pre game before we hit the Reykjavik nightlife. The sushi was just eh, but the drinks were really good. I made a candy man (magic energy and caramel vodka) and it lived up to its name. Very good.

We were disappointed that our experience here didn't match some of the good reviews. For us the food was mediocre and rather bland. The staff was okay, but definitely not as friendly as in other places we visited. The sandwiches didn't come with anything else like chips (as was the case in other cafes we went to). They were out of... More

We tried the sushi, chickensoup, smoothie, sashimi and coffee. Everything was worth the money. The cafe is a few steps downstairs, a bit dark. Very central and with good service. Recommend mango-tango maki. Best i had for a long time and the cofee came in a thermosbottle. Nice : )

Just went in for a few beers and to get out of the cold, very nice little place if you can get a seat. Give it a try!

Lovely place to stop for a beer or coffee and cake during the day. Great place for a quiet evening drink and food away from the tourists (of which we are amongst) Bar staff were lovely, friendly and welcoming. On our 4 day stay in Reykjavik we stopped by every day . Great Atmosphere, great place to just chill out... More

By pricing standards in Reykjavik, I think their Happy Hour is good value with 2 Viking beers costing £5. Note that the Happy Hour lasts more than an hour. When my husband and I were there it started at 4pm and finished at 9pm. The Viking beer is excellent- even my husband, who isn't a beer drinker enjoyed it. I... More

As someone else has said, the Kofinn is a good place to shelter from the bitter Reykjavik wind. It's down some steps. Go down and in and the Arctic blast whistles impotently past above your head. Viking beer (OK if nothing special), and comfortable old shabby-chic seating. One of the bar staff, the slim one with fair hair, keeps opening... More

Enjoyed our visit.Young lady who served us very friendly and had 'Blue Hair'.Leather seats on chairs were all torn and beer not the cheapeast in town .Loved the decor otherwise and the atmosphere was lovely even though the music they played was much too loud for us old fogies.

I'm surprised that I haven't seen the Kofinn's smoothies mentioned lately: They were a lovely non-alcoholic freshener in a long, tiring day of walking around downtown Reykjavik: the avocado smoothie is like a vegetarian meal-in-a-glass. Funky decor (and 60s music) reminded me of the long-gone coffee-houses of my misspent Montreal youth! (Others were clearly enjoying the various meat soups and... More
