Twined for 90 years. Our casa, Sólfell, was built in 1921 and has a rich history twined with Spain. Originally Sólfell housed the production of bacalao (salted cod/saltfiskur) and Spain was by far the biggest buyer. A newspaper article from 1921 tells how the Spanish renewed the contract between the two countries. The contract was literally a big deal because the magnitude was such that the Spanish bought all the exported bacalao that year. A new Spanish contract. We have reversed things. Before the bacalao started its journey from here to Spain but now we import from Spain everything that gives us the warmth and feel of the south. Of course the bacalao has a special place in our hearts as well as on our menu along with other delicacies, enough to give you what you need to put together your dream feast, there are thousands of possible combinations. There is a certain equilibrium in the fact that we have now offer a contract with whomever enters our establishment. In it we state our determination to offer the best of the Spanish tradition in this historical house with a unique fusion of our beloved home country. Enjoy.

Great atmosphere & service. Food questionable

Overall a decent experience. Not traditional tapas more like mini mains. Food was ok but i think the service and atmosphere stood out and was excellent.

Went here as it advertised fish tapas but there wasn't a very good choice (they had also advertised puffin, which we thought we should try, as it's on sale in almost every restaurant - they didn't have any). We had: Slow cooked char (just like smoked salmon), which came with a smoky mayo and thinly sliced veg - tasty Lobster... More

Beware of visiting this restaurant, there is a new menu with few tapas options, the prices are extremely high, portions are small and tasteless. I've visited this place many times before but after my last visit will never go again. The prices are ridiculous, when we complained about small portion, no response came.

I went with my 25 year old daughter. As we approached the restaurant an American couple where uligising about how good their meal had been...wow we thought. Well let me tell you, that Americal couple did not uligise enough, as it was amazing! We ordered a glass of rose and a glass of riocca and ordered 5 choices from the... More

We ate here one evening and had a selection of tapas dishes including slow cooked cod, grilled monk fish, speared tiger prawns. We ordered 5 dishes between 2 and portions were larger than usual tapas portions, and the food was delicious. Beautiful presentation. Great attentive and friendly service. Lovely restaurant over looking the harbour.

Located steps from Hotel Marina where we were staying, four of us girls enjoyed seafood tapas here one evening. The service from the restaurant team was excellent and the food was delicious. The decor was funky and unique as well - great spot.

Tapas, but not Spanish. Whale and puffin (in blueberry and angelica cream cheese) are a clue! And the portions are much bigger... And tastier.. And beautifully presented. We discovered the restaurant one afternoon and had Viking coffees (a local spirit instead of whisky, to blow your head off) and some deserts off the main menu. The cheese cake was particularly... An Icelandic take on Spanish tapas and they did a great job on the traditional and the Icelandic specialties. This was a delight to find as the location was right downtown by the harbor, very good service and a fun bar scene. We had a bartender who made very good specialty drinks, a server who guided us through a very... More
