Description: Twined for 90 years. Our casa, Sólfell, was built in 1921 and has a rich history twined with Spain. Originally Sólfell housed the production of bacalao (salted cod/saltfiskur) and Spain was by far the biggest buyer. A newspaper article from 1921 tells how the Spanish renewed the contract between the two countries. The contract was literally a big deal because the magnitude was such that the Spanish bought all the exported bacalao that year. A new Spanish contract. We have reversed things. Before the bacalao started its journey from here to Spain but now we import from Spain everything that gives us the warmth and feel of the south. Of course the bacalao has a special place in our hearts as well as on our menu along with other delicacies, enough to give you what you need to put together your dream feast, there are thousands of possible combinations. There is a certain equilibrium in the fact that we have now offer a contract with whomever enters our establishment. In it we state our determination to offer the best of the Spanish tradition in this historical house with a unique fusion of our beloved home country. Enjoy.

We enjoyed our meal at the Tapashouse. Great spot in the old harbour and lovely service. The view is nice, looking out on the old harbour. Close to the touristattractions such as the whaling.

Right on the port so convenient for the whale watching boats. Good music and lovely food. Be warned a lot of Icelandic fish like salt cod is eaten cold and can be spicy. Good freshly bread and nut and oil dip. Yum.

The food far exceeded our expectations as we enjoyed a lovely selection of tapas, and the tomato bread and oil and crushed nuts as a complimentary starter - all really tasty!

We arrived to a relatively empty restaurant (it was Monday night) to be greeted and immediately shown to a good table. We explained that one of our party had a severe nut allergy, and the waiter kindly steered us through the menu to advise what could be eaten safely. We were also given complementary olives as not all the bread... More

Quirky menu, but they only list a few key ingredients. We found this out when they put dishes on our table. Two out of 3dishes I ordered were completely inedible as they serve the fish cold and it was only partly cooked. Both had lemon something or other on which I cannot stand. Had the menu been detailed and specific,... More

Our group stopped in here after the whale watching tour. 3 of us had cod dishes and our 4th had a steak. We were all very happy with our choices, but I have to say the cod lunch special was excellent. It was perfectly cooked and I loved the pickled onions and sauces that accompanied it. 2 of us also... Food was good, although several mistakes made in our order (we ended up with dishes we hadn't ordered), and staff were not particularly knowledgable about the food (had to ask the kitchen what was in the dishes). That said, the food was great, if a little expensive, as long as you like ''rare'' cooked fish and meat... Not to everyone's... More

Warm atmosphere, tasty food and wine, excellent service. On Wednesday evening-soothing, live guitar music. Complimentary delicious bread with oil and yummy nut dip -included at lunch and dinner. We ate here for lunch and dinner. We ate romaine salad, hamburger, fries and prawns and all was delicious. Conveniently located on marina.
