Highlight of our visit to Reykjavik

We opted for the tasting menu and were totally delighted at the whole experience. Around 8-10 courses came out, we lost count half way through and all but one were top notch and that one was still very good. Highlights were squid and dried fish in spinach casing minke whale, both lamb and beef... read more

This has to be one of the best restaurants in Reykjavik! I had the seafood trio and it was just perfectly cooked and fresh! The bread with the volcanic salt was a nice touch too, had to buy some of that salt to bring back home! Customer service was excellent!

I picked this restaurant for my first night staying in Reykjavik based on the strength of the other reviews on Tripadvisor and was not disappointed! My party of four started with grilled pork ribs, deep fried vegetables and chicken skewers and all three were delicious. I had the Meat Gourmet for my main course (a trio of duck, lamb and... More

A little expensive but worth it. Quality of food and presentation very interesting and good. The decor and ambiance also very nice.

Went here for dinner one of our last night's in the city. The ambiance is great, and all of the waiters and waitresses were very friendly. The bread and butter (with lava salt) was amazing, as was the seafood soup (though I'll warn you - it's quite rich). Had the lamb/duck/beef trio for dinner, and that was great as well... More

Fantastic restaurant. I was taken there for my 30th birthday and had a great experience. The staff were attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. The menu was a meat eater's dream. It was genuinely a really difficult decision as to what to go for as it all looked delicious. I opted for the burger sliders to start (mainly as I wanted to... More

Several people recommended us to try the "three-burger-sampler" plate at the Grillmarkadurinn- and it certainly did not disappoint! Although the plate was a lot smaller than I expected (emphasis on "SAMPLEr"), all three burgers (whale, goose, lobster) were cooked to perfection and served by an absolutely stellar waitstaff. Well worth to effort to find the restaurant, tucked away in an... More

Dined here as a solo guest on my last night in Reykjavik. So glad I saved it to the end, or else I'd have come back every night. I went for: Cosmopolitan cocktail, mini burgers to start, meat gourmet platter for mains, Bardarbunga for dessert. Each course was stunning in both taste and presentation. Everything was cooked perfectly, and was... More

The atmosphere and setting of this restaurant is really out of this world. The food and cocktails are amazing with great presentation using only location produce served on lava plates. Quite expensive but really worth it
