The fish served here was some of the freshest and most inventive that we had while in Reykjavik. Be prepared for a bit of sticker shock when you receive the bill. Even by Icelandic standards, this restaurant is expensive. We had a wonderful lunch without having to worry about reservations. The ambiance and decor were fabulous. The service was friendly... More

I had such an amazing dinner at the market! I suggest trying the horse tenderloin it was delicious and perfectly cooked. The langoustine was also amazing.

This restaurant is one of the best ones I have ever visited. The food was perfect - I almost cry because I cannot visit here more often. The fish is just so fresh and tastes lovely. We didn't have a reservation but we got seats in the front of the kitchen. Specially our little son liked to watch the cooks... More

We had dinner at the Grillmarkadurinn and did the tasting menu. We LOVED it. It is expensive (9400 ISK when we went) but we went for it even though we are fairly budget travelers as our one splurge and were very glad that we did. So when I say expensive I say that because, yes, it does cost a lot,... More

The food is definitely tasty. Great ambiance; sophisticated-rustic, like we see taking hold in some U.S. Cities, but with a distinctive slick-Viking vibe. I loved the "Lava Salt", a charcoal gray rock salt they bring out with the brown earthy bread. The menu boards are the size of a large clipboard and are made of steel. They are as amusing... More

We tried the tasting menu with wine. The food was great, nice atmosphere and professional waiter. The wine selected for us matched the tastes in our food very well.

You have to look behind another restaurant to find this place, but the (short) search is worth it. Yes, it is expensive (but what isn't in Iceland?), nevertheless their food is worth every cent/penny/kronor. The interior alone is worth going there (and the washrooms offer a very interesting surprise, so don't forget to pay them a visit). But what really... More

Absolutely amazing food, really friendly staff, though a bit of a wait for the check at the end. We all had the tasting menu, lots of lovely local dishes including minke whale. Definitely worth visiting, be sure to book well ahead, especially at weekends.

The place is fantastic, the design using all the elements you might find during your visit to Iceland. We really liked it. It's very cozy and tasty. About food, it's fine but not fantastic. It's a little pretencious. We asked for the menu de dégustation and it seemed it was a secret what we were going to eat or that... More
