One of the highlights...

...of a brief holiday in Reykjavik was eating here. Having unsuccessfully looked for it straight away (based on its reputation) we eventually found it on the last night. We only managed to get in at 6pm because they had a large party at 8. Excellent in every way. Cannot recommend highly enough.

The Grill Market is a must stop when you are in Reykjavik. It is located in the lower level of a building. A bit hard to find, but taxi drivers can lead you in the right direction. The decor is rustic and very cool. I had the seafood sample plate and it was to die for! Great for a more... More

Grillmarkadurinn would fit easily into the restaurant scene in Boston, New York or LA. From it's beautiful interior design (the sink in the men's room is worth a visit to see by itself...), to the comfortable bar area downstairs, to the amazing grill in the kitchen this place made Iceland memorable for me. The pork ribs with crispy rice cake... More

Came to this place on a very blustery January night. Service was fantastic and the food was incredible. We ate from the taster menu and we couldn't move afterwards. Great modern twists on icelandic staples. Every dish was terrific. Would make another journey to Reykjavik for another meal here.

This restaurant isn't cheap, but it's well worth the money ! The atmosphere is really unique and the food is great. I recommend the trio of mini burgers as a starter, they're awesome ! And it's not like you can have whale, goose and lobster burgers in many other places... After this I had the trio of meats as a... More

Being a visitor new to the country, I didn't really know what to try or what I would or wouldn't like. My Partner has been before but ate crisps! We looked on their website and read that they recommend the tasting menu to new visitors as you try a little of everything. Well we definitely weren't disappointed. The Restaurant itself... More

We ate here on our last night and enjoyed the superb tasting menu, both of our teenage children ate and liked everything including the dried fish with seaweed, so a definite pat on the back for the chef. We were there for nearly 3 hrs, so allow plenty of time to eat & don't start too late with children. Thank... More
