Good food but a little expensive

We were staying at the Hotel Fron, which is part of the same building. We had been on a long trip up to see the water falls and got back quite late so decided to eat here, rather then go out down town. The staff were friendly and the food good. I had the fish of the day, cod, and... read more

After sampling local hotdogs and burgers on our first day or so - we tried this restaurant for something a little more authentic. It was great, encompassing dishes from all over Scandinavia, including the mysterious Greenland, there was something for everyone. I had the fish soup (doesn't do if justice) and lobster with pasta in a bisque sauce. Both were... More

As the title. The food was horrible and pricy considering its quality... There were not so many people in the restaurant before we came in and now I know why...

We were looking for a good meal in Reykjavik and walked past this restaurant. As it looked like some local food (what's in a name...), we decided to go in. There were not many customers, but enough to make the place not feel empty. We had delicious starters (reindeer paté and baguette with honeyed tomatoes) and even better main courses... More

It is... How lamb is suppose to be cooked... The tenderness... The smooth texture. How it's suppose smell How it's suppose to melt in your mouth... Its how lamb suppose to be. Perfect. Iceland is serious about their lamb. Scrap everything you read and run to this place.

We pleasant staff and efficient service. The food was good, the soups we had were almost a meal in themselves. The main courses, whilst not large, we're well cooked and presented. After the soup and a main we were sufficiently sated not to be able to manage pudding. Possibly not the cheapest but to be fair I don'the anything to... More

We were celebrating the graduation of our elder daughter, so we were not looking for a cheapest possible choice. However, paying EUR 70 for lobster, which wsn't really a lobster but tails of bigger shrimps, combined with mediocre service, made us feel not too happy.

Good food, with a huge menu. Made it kind of hard to choose, too many good options. Apparently the restaurant is attached to a hotel, so a big group of tourists started trickling in and were kind of annoying. I had the honey goat cheese baguette with some lamb soup and it was so tasty and satisfying.

We ended up here after our first choice of restaurant was full and were so happy this was the case. The restaurant was bustling, warm and inviting but the food was delicious. I had the fish of the day and it tasted as good (maybe better than it looked). Portions were generous and prices reasonable - I would highly recommend.
