You cannot miss this spot, but you may at first think that it is just a bakery when passing the main door. It is not, and inside is wonderfully relaxed with plenty of basic tables and cushioned seats / benches. The ideal place to sit and read a book / paper or simply chat with friends. When we first arrived... More

The bread, cakes, pastry in the window look mouthwateringly great and taste even better - we tried several different things during the course of our stay and were never disappointed. Coffee is good too. Friendly staff, very basic ambiente.

We only ate (albeit very European style) breakfast here, but we LOVED everything we ate here. Very good pastries, nice coffee. We also bought great french bread and rye bread here - good crusty real European style bread for making packed lunches for our tours. Great shop

Great bakery which is used by the locals. Has a very nice salmon and egg sandwich on the nicest bread I have had for my entire stay. Sandwich was large and 990 krone which by Icelandic price was quiet good!!

Whether it's the sandwiches, pastries, chocolates, or candies, you really can't go wrong here. The counter where you order is always busy, but we never had problems finding a place to sit. Buy a sandwich to-go for a day trip or your next plane ride. So good!

We joined the line snaking around the counter mid-day Saturday and were rewarded with a bag of fragrant buttery cinnamon rolls, made with a brioche kind of dough and a chocolatey scone. I also selected a large chicken, feta(?) and sun dried tomato sandwich on a baguette for the airport. Excellent treats. Beautiful display of pastries, sanwiches and elegant chocolates... More

We ate here twice during our short stay in Reykjavik and found the food and atmosphere top notch. My daughters hot chocolate was the best shed ever had.

I visited Reykjavik in November 2013, and visited Sandholt everyday I was there. The baked goods were delicious, the coffee super yummy (this coming from someone who is not typically a coffee drinker!), and the sandwiches were perfect for packing up for day trips outside the city. Cozy atmosphere, yummy food, and a central location - lovely!

We grabbed pastries and coffee here 3 times in our day and a half in Reykjavik- so good! Atmosphere: a little bakery on a busy street in Reykjavik. Narrow by the cash register, but there is seating in the back that expands out for menu service. We grabbed pastries that were easily visible in the window and at the counter... More

Incredible bread, pastries, croissants. We kept stocking up on things here to take back to our rental place for breakfast, and it saved us having to go out for breakfast often. The jams were delicious, too!
