Wonderful!

Great service. Great atmosphere. The set fish meal is fantastic value and my wife had the vegetarian option which was also superb. Best meal we've had for a long, long time, not just in Iceland.

All the review websites agree -- this is the place that almost everyone loves. My impression was ambivalent. I could have rated it four stars, but chose three for the overall experience, as explained below. The problem was not with the food itself, which was excellent. However, it was difficult to enjoy in a small, closely packed and noisy space.... More

We celebrated our anniversary dinner here and we were not disappointed! First thing: PRICE. If you didn't know it already, Iceland restaurant prices are much pricier than the rest of Europe, and coming from Canada it is definitely more expensive. In respect to Sjavargrillid, the prices are VERY GOOD and the food is EXCELLENT. I had the Taste of Iceland... More

Perfectly prepared seafood, good wine list and not too expensive, and very attentive service, anticipating every need. Had a creamy seafood soup and two preparations of cod, all expertly prepared. Setting is open, relaxed, not at all formal. Reservations are highly suggested, but you may get lucky if you go early.

We went here 3 times for lunch and once for dinner. It is an adorable place with a wonderful relaxing atmosphere. We feel in love with the seafood soup. It was so warm and nourishing and delicious! Service was excellent.

Slick service, informal atmosphere, great food and a reasonably priced wine list for this neck of the woods. Seafood is obviously the signature dish here and they do not dissapoint.

You will need a reservation. The staff and service was superb. We had the minke whale as an appetizer. It was tender and juicy. My husband had spotted catfish and it was wonderful. I had salmon, the freshest I believe I've ever eaten, and it was amazing. I would recommended this for couples or anyone looking for a high-end experience... More

Food was very good (apps were better than main course). The prawns were unique (like fried sushi) but were great. Cocktails were excellent. Salmon could have been better. Overall great service, good food (but pricy)

We used Trip Advisor to find a place to eat. When we arrived they asked if we had reservations. We did not (note make reservations). We waited twenty minutes for a table with no reservations. We chatted with the bartenders while we waited and had a drink. Then once seated the amazing food began. The Salmon was what the cute... More
