We first went to the Seafood Grill (Monday night) the place was packed and there was a 45 minute wait. Rather than waiting, because we were all so hungry, we decided to make reservations for the following night. When we arrived on Tuesday the staff was very friendly and remembered us from the night before and sat us immediately. They... More

This was the best meal I have ever had. Ever. Every single course was beautifully prepared and brilliantly executed. We ooo'ed and ahhhh'ed over ever dish. Can't recommend it highly enough. A truly incredible dining experience.

Fully booked so I had to wait 20 min for a table but the food was really worth it! Affordable prices.

Really charming restaurant , food is prepared to perfection. Went there for romantic dinner with boyfriend on our second night at Reykiavik, very delicious cocktails too!! I ordered fish feast and was absolutely fantastic ! Boyfriend had taste of Iceland - and he was delighted . Desserts are superb !!! The only downside is that is little expensive like everywhere... Rarely in my experience do restaurants ranked as number 1 in a city live up to their reputation. Make no mistake Sjavargrillid delivers. Excellent Icelandic cuisine with terrific presentation and for me great value with a two course lunch for two including a single beer, glass of wine and coffee for less than $100 even after a tip. My wife... More

And one who has ever been to Iceland knows it's expensive. Especially in the world of dining. Almost to the point of really being ridiculous. I really can't figure out whether it is margin excess or really the cost of putting it all together. Sjavargrillid has a very good reputation in Reykjavik so you expect things to be perfect. It... The reason we went there, was because it is the number one on tripadvisor. The restaurant means it and met duly our expectations. Excellent standard and the food is extraordinary.

I had the Taste of Iceland menu that included Minky Whale and smoked puffin breast. Not foods that I would eat regularly but a real opportunity to try something differrent. My wife had the lobster menu. Food, amiance and service were excellent and so we had a very enjoyable evening. Another great recomendation from Trip Adviser.

Booking is key for dinner at this place from Wed night on. It's simply delicious. Lobster soup has been the best in town. And we were amazed til desert. Including the wine choice!
