Someone said of Reykjavik that it is pretty difficult to find anywhere that serves a bad meal so Sjavargrillid must rate among the best of the best. The fact that it was packed out on the two occasions we enjoyed dinner there pretty much says it all and a couple of people we spoke to were certainly repeat guests as... More

We chose Sjavagrillid for our first dinner in Iceland based on the reviews listed here. It lived up to all the hype. The service is impeccable, the menu offered a nice variety of dishes. Everything we had was delicious and presented beautifully. I had salmon which was prepared two ways, some of the best seafood I've ever had. It was... More

The staff and the service were good but some of the food combinations were odd. The lamb with bechamel didn't go down well, the sauce with the juicy pasta wasn't enjoyable and a tasty creme brulee was served with sorbets that shouldn't have been on the same plate. The fish was nice though and choosing from the Feast menu is... More

We went here for my 30th birthday meal & were not disappointed. Between two of us we tried their 8 course Icelandic taster menu with accompanying wines. We should have booked a table though as it was after 9 PM before we could get a table & this type of menu takes several hours to get through. The service was... More

On a very cold snowy night we stopped and had dinner here.it was warm and cozy, the service was friendly and the food was delicious. I skipped having a starter and ordered the juicy pasta with prawns, langoustines and scallops -very tasty and well cooked. Finished our meal with an Icelandic liquer - Bjork. A very enjoyable evening.

This restaurant is actually amazing, no exaggeration. Lovely warm service from all the staff who are very knowledgeable about all the dishes. We were unintentionally quite difficult customers as we were a little indecisive on what to order , but our host was very patient with us, even when we cancelled our main because the bread served with the starter... We booked this restaurant for 730pm, however, due to a closure of a main road we were unable to get back into town until 9pm. The restaurant was very helpful and understanding and they saved the table for us, which we were very grateful, as it was a Saturday night and it was fully booked. We ordered the lobster feast,... Quite simply one of the finest, most fun and varied meals I've had in ages We had the grill party, 9 course tasting menu that included everything from puffin, whale, salmon, beef, pork belly, lamb, goose to creme brûlée and almond cake. Everything tasted wonderful and the variety was excellent. Service was unhurried and we spent over 3 hours enjoying... More

Approaching a trip to Iceland, I stumbled upon this beautiful place on TripAdvisor and it sold me from the beginning. The food was incredible, we both had the Holiday Menu for Lunch, and it was great. Worth the price, as each course was hand delivered by someone willing to explain the courses, how they were made, and what they included.... More
