Great

We were recommended this restaurant by a friend and we weren't dissapointed. The food was delicious, the staff friendly and the place had a lovely atmosphere. Had a wonderful meal here, it may not be the cheapest place to eat, but worth every penny.

I went to this restaurant alone and had the grill party. Basically I ate the whole menu. It is a 8 course menu, with 4 starters, 2 mains and 2 deserts. Everything was delicious and the service was great. The price is pretty much ok considering the amount and quality of the food that you get. Highly recommended.

My husband and I ate an early dinner at Sjavargrillid recently. We specifically chose the restaurant based on the positive reviews and selection they offered on their menu. We decided on the Taste of Iceland and Lobster Feast. I had wanted to sample the local delicacies - minke whale and puffin. Both were cooked in such a way that you... More

We chose the Sjavargrillid based on reviews and a recommendation from our tour guide. As we did not have a reservation, we arrived when they opened (5pm) and were seated right away. Our table was by the front window with a great view out onto the streets. We decided to be daring and ordered the Grill Party (without wine). The... More

The food was amazing. We participated on the food and wine festival. The food was a pre fixed menu with wine pairing, expensive but worth it.

I can't say I loved it. Yes, the food and service were good...but I didn't think there was anything outstanding. It was very expensive -- the most expensive meal I had in Iceland -- and full of tourists.

Searching T Advisor came up with this great find - the reviews do reflect what an excellent restaurant this is. We only had the main course- catch of the day and a lamb dish (this does not do justice to the chef, my Icelandic is non existent) both dishes looked sensationally prepared and where this restaurant really scores is with... This is a very good restaurant with lots to choose from the menu. Best description is modern Icelandic food. Traditional dishes with a modern twist. The food was very tasty and they wait staff were very accommodating and nice.
