Warm service in Iceland

Though I emphasize the warm (and excellent ) service, the food was equally excellent! We did not travel to Iceland in anticipation of good food; however, we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the meal we had at Sjavargrillid. The atmosphere of the restaurant is quite nice and... read more

I stumbled into this restaurant thanks to information given to me by local people. The location is very nice, low lights and wooden furniture, and the waiters are really kind and solicitous. The food absolutely worth it: the specialties are lamb, beef and seafood, grilled and served with a number of sauces and vegetables and spices (small vegballs, cabbage, horseradish... More

Two of us went here when we got caught in a blizzard for dinner and it was incredible. We had the lobster feast and it was possibly the best meal we have ever eaten! The staff are amazing the cocktails are good it is a must if you are in Iceland.

Perfect end to my Iceland trip. The food was simply divine! We had the birthday set menu which was pretty good value as there were four courses. The portions are relatively huge and I was really stuffed by the end of the meal. The creme brulee was definitely the most amazing dish! Will definitely recommend this place to anyone who... More

We had the catch of the day (perch) and the salmon. Each was accompanied by broccoli, and then had other added flavors. The salmon, perfectly rare, had lemon grass, lemon, a lime sauce, a lobster glaze, and who knows what else. It was the tastiest salmon ever. The perch had an equally impressive list of ingredients, all fresh and beautifully... More

I have been meaning to write this review for over a year now but never got round to it. Myself and my fiancé booked a table for 2100 on a Saturday night but were unfortunately told on arrival that they were slightly overbooked but our table would be ready shortly. We did not complain and ordered some drinks at the... More

My fiancée and I went to this restaurant on our weekend break to Iceland. This was honestly the most amazing seafood restaurant I have ever been to! The attention to detail is beyond belief. However what really set this restaurant apart from others was the customer service and presentation. Each dish was explained to us IN DETAIL and all of... More

We ate the catch of the day, and the salmon, and every single bite was worth it. Great bread, fine presentation, and inspired and "honest" food, creative and fun. Service was excellent as well, and facility first class (if I would change anything, it would only be the music; American standards were a bit out of place; a great playlist... More

Great food served elegantly. I had the grilled fish fixed menu: a fish soup, then a grilled fish main, then a fancy desert. Pretty restaurant, really attentive service. Great place to eat in Reykjavik!

The young man at the front desk of our hotel made the suggestion of this restaurant. It was a very good choice. One of our party had sushi which she loved, my wife had a pasta dish with seafood that she found a bit rich because of the cream in it and a friend and myself had the four course... More
