A must do in Reykjavik

As a non-seafood person, I went for lunch with no expectations. Thinking that my meal would be reduced to a salad and some garnish. Boy, was I wrong!!! I ordered the beef carpaccio as my appetizer and the pork belly as my main course. The carpaccio was AMAZING. Actually, beyond AMAZING. One of... read more

The menu focuses on seafood with some of the dishes overwhelmed by their components (i.e. three sauces for one piece of salmon). Wait staff could use more training - we were told that Ocean catfish was the same as swordfish - not likely. Not the most attentive wait staff I have encountered at this price level.

Recommended by our wonderful taxi driver and the hosts at the Hotel Fron, this is definitely a locals hangout and featured a small but eclectic menu, mainly seafood with some very interesting touches. Great drinks too.

It was quite crowded on the day we visited and luckily we booked a table via email a couple days in advance. They serve mainly seafood also with some special Icelandic ingredients like minke whale and puffin. We ordered salmon and the fish of the day for the main, and both were very exquisite and tasty. Some dishes tasted somewhat... More

We came as a big group of 8 persons that came without reservation during Lunch time and the wait staffs arranged a seat for us even though they were rather busy. We ordered a variation of Fish dishes and they were all really fresh! I ordered the fresh catch of the day which was Cod, and it was really lovely.... More

I would recommend this restaurant for its tasty food and excellent service! The set menus especially were of very good value and included mainly Icelandic dishes. I would suggest, though, booking in advance as this restaurant seems always busy.

We choose this restaurant for the first night of our anniversary break & were not disappointed, The staff were friendly & very attentive, nothing to much trouble. The food was outstanding, We both had set menus, 1 lobster feast & 1 fish feast. Highlights were the lobster and shellfish soup & the langoustine with braised beef but all dishes extremely... More

I had the lobster salad which hit the spot for me in every way - It really melded as a dish. Broiled langoustine tails, tiny scallops, & prawns - a few of each - with an assortment of interesting greens and sliced salad vegetables, and thin, crisp Parmesan wafers and grated regular Parmesan in a subtle, creamy dressing. My BF... More

Enjoying Reyjkavik on Mother's Day was quite a treat, but the meal at the Seafood Grill ( English name) was over the top! Dinner with 2 other couples, the 6 of us enjoyed a lovely welcome (even without a reservation) and were immediately shown a nice table. Our starters included minke whale, cheese plate and some
