This is where I ate my first night in Iceland...and it was a lovely way to "enter" into the Icelandic experience! The quality of the food is excellent. The service is warm, friendly, and attentive. And the atmosphere is relaxing and intimate.

Before going to Iceland, I never thought they were known for their great food. (I was thinking "hearty food"). I have to tell everyone that Reykjavik has world class restaurants and food and is a foodies dream location. While Iceland has great natural beauty, I'd like to go back just to experience some of these restaurants again, especially Sjavargrillid. Highly... More

Our last dinner of our "round Iceland"-tour summarized the fact that we had very good food whereever we had dinner. We chose the 4 course menu that highlights the ability of Icelandic cooks and were very satisfied. The wine list is fine and we had no problem to find excellent white and red wine to accompany the food. The rhubarb... More

Restaurant was very busy but honored our reservation on time. Very nice seating and decor. An extensive menu but I highly recommend the 4 course tasting menu. There was great variety and each dish was delicious and the presentation superb. A combination of fish, seafood, lamb and beef. The deserts were extra special. Tried puffin for the first time. I had Icelandic lamb and my wife chose the fish special. We agreed that both of these dishes were among the very best meals we enjoyed in Iceland and Scandinavia during a three week sojourn. You won't go wrong in choosing this establishment. We enjoyed our lunch so much that we plan on stopping here again whenever in Reykjavik.

Wonderful dinner tonight with shellfish soup, minke whale appetizer and fresh cod. All topped off with a delicious variation on Creme brûlée. Dinner was a bit expensive but not so much so by Icelandic standards. I would come back! Waiter was helpful and pleasant.
