Description: Kaffitár is an Icelandic roasterie, specializing in importing, roasting and serving the finest Arabica coffee beans. Apart from the roasterie, the company owns eight coffee stores-espresso bars or cafés. They are located at our roastery in Reykjanesbær, two at the international airport, in Kringlan shopping mall, in Smáralind shopping mall, down town on Bankastræti, in the National museum and at Höfðatorg. We buy 75% of our coffee directly from the farmers, this we call "Kaffi án krókaleiða" which means that our buyer, has visited the farm and selected the coffee. Lots of our direct coffee comes from Ricardo Rosales at Jesus Maria in Nicaragua. El Injerto in Gvatemala and Daterra in Brazil are also farms which we buy a lot from. Our experience is that we get better coffees and more consistent quality

Very easy-going coffee bar. Does everything right that Starbuck has been doing wrong over the years. Friendly staff, nice home-baked pastries and yummy coffee's. Plus a relaxed atmosphere to hang and to write a TripAdvisor review... :-)

While this is a little chain in Iceland, the coffee is very good and seems to be prepared with love every time. We visited the site of the roasterie near Keflavic. The coffee shop there is not extraordinary, but the staff are truly exceptional. We asked if we could see the roasting, and received an impromptu personal tour.

Great coffee to go, but too much butter and salt in the croissants (greasy and leaves you with a fast food feeling!) For coffee lovers it's easy to find good coffee while there are many "kaffitár" in Reykjavik.

I traveled with three friends, all who enjoy sleeping until noon. I was up early in the morning, and Kaffitár was the only place around that was open, so I went inside and enjoyed a brilliant double espresso and a pain au chocolat. Nice staff, excellent coffee and good prices.

This busy and noisy coffee shop is right on the 'main drag' of Reykjavik - we were able to find an empty table in the middle alongside the oft mentioned mac book crew. Seems to be frequented by a lot of locals. We ordered panini sandwiches and cappuccinos - which took quite a long while - not sure exactly what... More

This coffee shop was right across the street from our hostel so we popped in here on our first day while we were waiting for our room to be ready. I liked that you could keep refilling up your cup and the coffee was good, if a little generic. They had a lot of magazines and books around to read.... More

This is a really nice little café in the centre of Reykjavik. It was a short walk from where we were staying so we popped here for an afternoon coffee and cake and breakfast. Each time the service was quick and friendly and the food and drinks were great.

Just popped in out of the cold for quick coffee. Very good and better than Starbucks ! Frequented by the Mac book brigade!
