We were looking for a good gluten free restaurant in Reykjavik and discovered Kitchen Eldhus. This was my family's first experience with Nepalese and Indian food and this restaurant did not disappoint. The food was fantastic and, with the exception of 2 dishes, the entire menu was gluten free. Thank you Kitchen Eldhus for making our last meal of our... More

Those few negative reviews must have just been very unlucky, because the food we received was very tasty and the speed of the service was acceptable. The portion sizes were also more than sufficient. Highly recommended

We arrived without a reservation (as seems to be the norm) on a Tuesday night. The good - the food was excellent. We asked the owner (who was also the waiter, busboy, cashier, and probably chef) to make us an appetizer sampler for three and he came through with some hot out of the kitchen samosas and pakoras. All were... More

A group of 4 of us, visiting from Portland Oregon in the United States, found ourselves pretty hungry after a day of walking around the city of Reykjavik. We were greeted and seated quickly. We soon met the owner, as he introduced himself and welcomed us to his restaurant. The food was very, very good. We come from a "foodie"... More

Me and my girlfriend are living in Iceland and we went to this restaurant many times because the food is just DELICIOUS ! Whenever you are craving for a curry or a vegetarian place just come to this place. The staff is really friendly and the Nepalese owner is a really nice guy that gives helpful advice when it comes... While visiting Reykjavik, Iceland, it was the best place to have a quality meal. Very professional and courteous staff with personal service. It was so delicious that we had to come back again after a week when finishing up our trip. If there is something you would like to customize, the owner will be delighted to cook for you. Very... Visiting Reykjavik from Portland, OR, my travel companions and I found ourselves craving curry. We stumbled upon Kitchen Eldhus and found everything to be quite good. Friendly attentive staff greeted us and ( albeit it took time) their delicious food soothed our spice-craving pallattes. Standout dishes were the lamb chops and chicken vindaloo. The vegetarian pakora was simply a delight!... More

The food was very nice but if you can handle spicy food then you should order extra hot. I ordered hot and it was very spicy but not THAT spicy you know. I would have liked it a little spicier. Very nice service too.

Looked for the restaurant after reading about it in Roighh guide to Iceland. Was struggling to find a vegetarian meal in Reykjavik apart from pizza! I have visited Nepal and the food was as nice as any I've had there. I had the stuffed naan bread and the Nepalese vegetable curry. Both delicious! Was spoilt for choice what to have!

The staff is very friendly at Kitchen Eldhús and the location is good on Laugavegur. But what pulls down the grade for me is the food. It's not bad - well prepared and tastes nice - but I missed the "wow-factor" that a really good Indian restaurant can give me. I had papadums, tawa macha with nan bread and rasgulla.... More
