decent happy hour

We did not eat here, but we did stop in one night for happy hour as they are right across the street from the Plaza hotel. The place was packed, but almost everyone left at the end of happy hour - half priced Viking draft beer. It is a Mexican themed restaurant. Just okay.

We decided to pop into this restaurant because it seemed like a place that could host a couple of people that were just out and about (ie. Not wearing the best clothes for a fancy place). When we went in almost all the tables were taken but we found a place for 2. We asked the waiter what was the... More

My boyfriend and I ate here at our first night in Reykjavik. I have to echo the other reviews that said they wanted to leave the second they sat down. We walked in to a completely empty restaurant and were lead to a table by the window. We looked through the menu for a couple of minutes trying to decide... More

Food was mediocre and quite dry. Lots of times we heard the microwave going off and as the only diners can only surmise it was for our food!

We ate here as I wanted to try something unusual. Most of the restaurants offering Icelandic specialities were really expensive. This place offered Minke whale steaks at a price that was reasonable for Reykavik, so we decided to give it a try. We had Minke whale (c.£20), BBQ burger (c.£10), a Viking beer (c£5) and a Bailey's coffee (c£7). The... More

First off the waitress didn't even tell us the special, she ran off to watch the handball game. The draft Viking beer wasn't cold. I had the chicken fajita and it was terrible, the guacamole was disgusting and the rice tasted like it was made yesterday. Another family member ordered the lobster. It and the butter was bland. The waitress... More

Visited for lunch and received a warm welcome. Lots of choice on the menu. Went for the chicken quesidilla, which came with salad, nachos, rice, sour cream, guacamole and salsa. Very tasty, and freshly made. Average price. Free use of wifi and the bathroom was clean. Would visit again.

Lovely restaurant with great food and service. Staff even changed the TV to the important football match for some of the other diners. Good value for money considering how expensive Iceland is.

We went into Tabasco's as it was just around the corner from where we were staying & as the weather was really bad we didn't want to travel too far and we were very glad that we did pop in. It had a nice varied menu, not just Mexican and I tried the Mink whale for the first time and... More
