Very filling, tasty soups. One veggie, one meat variety of the day. It seems a bit much for a soup (1.550) but it was definitely a dinner size, not starter. I couldn't even finish the bread bowl it came in. Friendly staff. Good atmosphere. We definitely recommend it.

An old cafe in the mainstreet of Reykjavik, serving very good soups in a bread! Funny and tasty! Rough old place, not very nice toilets.

We had lunch here on our first day in Reykjavik- the famous soup in the bread bowl. There are two soup choices- one veggie and one meat. The soup was excellent and we enjoyed the cafe so much we went back for a second trip! The staff were friendly and helpful and the coffee was also excellent. Go here for... More

The sign outside claims the best soup in a bread bowl anywhere , I certainly can't argue this point . The soups were very rich and creamy , we also tried other fare as we made this our regular shopping lunch stop . Good value for the money and a very efficient and friendly staff .

Original place with creamy soups served inside a big bed. They had 1 types: a lamb soup and a mushroom soup. It's worth if you want to taste these soups, if not there are other places to go). Good price (about 1500 ISK or 10 EUR).

I was attracted by their poster saying the best soup in town, so I stepped in and ordered a seafood cream soup. Well, I honestly don't find it delicious. Didn't taste like seafood - it was like a normal creamy soup with artificial crab meat? Perhaps I should have tried the other soup instead.

We stayed right across the street from this restaurant while in Reykjavik. We stopped in several times for the soup. Good selection, which rotates daily. Other options as well.

Loved the soup, the ambience - but hated the condescending sentence that "no, we have not wifi - talk to each other and smile instead". You lose a star for that - that is a pathetic statement - I surf if I want to - you are not my mom. But - yeah - the soup was very good.

This is a friendly and alternative eaterie! The speciality of the house is to serve a good, thick soup using a hollowed out bread roll (of immense proportions) as a bowl - the removed bread is served with the soup and some butter. There is a different choice each day - one meaty soup and one veggie alternative! Give it... More

On a cold summer day in Iceland (rainy!), soup was a welcomed meal. Soup in a bread-bowl is even BETTER! I really enjoyed the meal I had there. The soup I enjoyed was a sort of 'cream of mushroom' homemade soup, very delicious. They have both a meat and vegetarian soup option every day. I enjoyed my soup with a... More
