Delicious & friendly!

The service was great. They even moved us closer to the window when a table became available so our son could see out. The soup was fantastic & so were the sandwiches. A great place to grab a beer & some food while out walking about.

We had lunch here yesterday and it was excellent. We both had the mushroom soup which was gorgeous - really filling & delicious edible bread bowl! A welcome interlude during shopping & sightseeing. Really good atmosphere.

We didn't know what we were going to do when our tour got rained out but we stumbled into this great little cafe. The bread bowl soup was perfect for a cold rainy day and the service was very friendly and accommodating!

Small, cosy, alternative, great staff, very good Irish coffee, soup in a bread is to die for. We went twice and it was a firm favourite

This little gem is on Laugavevur, the main shopping street in downtown reykjavik...it's quite hard to miss as its up some stairs but look for the gull and solfol sign and you're there... The cafe offers 2 soups-one veggie and one meat which change every day..it comes in a great bread bowl...both soup and bread is really tasty..soup is around... More

My friend insisted on trying "the soup restaurant he had seen on Google", and me not being an immense fan of soup, I was afraid I wouldn't enjoy it and would leave the place still hungry. Well, I was wrong ! The cafe is really nice and cosy with a great atmosphere, the staff is friendly, and the soup is... More

A novelty having soup in a loaf. Tasty and warming, washed down with an agreeable glass of wine. Although quite busy there was a comfortable atmosphere and we felt under no pressure to hurry from our cosy window table.

I saw this cafe on tripadvisor. Me and my friend ended up eating here 3 times. Cheaper than anywhere else and the staff are friendly. Soup dished up within minutes and even though it was very busy we weren't pushed out. It is above street level so you can have a good look around the main street. I would recommend... More

This was our first stop in Reykjavik city centre for some food and we were not disappointed. Great food (soup in a bread bowl as described by everyone else!) and a lovely atmosphere. Also one of the more reasonably priced places to eat. Food was excellent as was the beer, so much so that we returned on our last day.... More
