Good Soup, a little different

My wife and I came here one night and it was jam packed, but also it was 7:30 p.m. (19:30) and they were out of soup. So we came here the next night at about 6:30 p.m. and found a table. We had good service, but were a little disappointed with only two soup choices. We had the Italian Meat... read more

This little restaurant located on Laugavegur seemed the ideal, quick lunch spot. The road is a busy pedestrian paradise, offering shops and restaurant choices. After sampling many bowls of soup and many wonderful Icelandic breads on our visit to Iceland, this restaurant was sadly disappointing in both. The mushroom soup bowl was thick, salty and pasty and the bread devoid... More

I'm generally a soup dodger, but I was intrigued by the idea of soup inside a small loaf. I had the spicy meat soup, and Lucy had the veggie. Both were great. The kids enjoyed their food as well (quesadilla and a cheese toastie). The staff were friendly and it has a nice atmosphere. Great comfort food.

We ordered their signature soup that comes in a pumpkin like bread. The soup is filling and the taste of lamb is great but its thickness is in between soup and paste, which is a bit much to take. Well, worth trying if you haven't. It's worth-noting that the reataurant decorates the wall with dollars notes of different countries.

This restaurant didn't live up to the hype. Service was friendly. But the asparagus soup was bland -- like a Campbells condensed soup. The waiter told us they had spicy chicken soup but it was really mild -- and later we heard him describe it to another customer as just "mild chicken soup" -- but it was actually quite spicy.... What can I say. The soup served inside a large bread roll was superb. Yes inside a bread roll. My kids and I had the mexican meat which was great. My wife had the ginger and coriander vegetable soup which I tasted and was superb. We were so hungry after a long day trip we even eat the bread roll... More

What a fantastic little cafe to stop for lunch. Fresh home made soup served in a bread bowl! Little round loaf tasty and fresh a perfect match to the hearty soup. Lovely staff - charming atmosphere. A must if your are in Reykjavik.

Best Soup in Iceland and one of the best and fastest dinners. Also affordable for the city. They always have a veg option. The bread bowl is a delicous wheaty bread. Try the Fruit Beer they serve in a bottle. It is DELICIOUS. Nice staff, fun kitschy decor. Note it is up the stairs.

I tasted the most delicious mushroom soup in the city. Friendly staff, nice place. I would recommend it.

Our group of 4 went here for a late dinner. We arrived around 930pm and they only had one soup left- Mexican vegetable. The bread bowl was big and the soup had good flavour. They stop serving food at 10.
