It's one of the best meeting places in downtown Reykjavík so when you want to grab a cup of coffee with a date, this is a great choice. It's dark, candlelit and cozy. The Soups here are also always a good choice coming in from the cold. Great to visit before you go on the pubcrawl as the location is... More

Good feeling because it's in the 1st floor and if you're sitting next to the window then you have view to the main shopping street. Soup was very tasty and a big potion.

Went here twice during our stay in Reykjavik. We loved the soup served in a hollowed out bread bowl. It was hot, filling and tasty. There was a meat based soup and also a vegetarian choice too. The atmosphere was warm, friendly and staff were polite and helpful.

Enjoyed it so much we went there 2 times. Each time there were 2 different soups to try. If you get there before too late you can order more than bread bowl soup off a menu. The bread was tasty and we tried the lamb and beef stew one night and the chicken ginger fennel soup the other. Both were... More

Intrigued by the whole 'soup in bread' idea and with limited time ahead of our northern lights tour my wife and I decided to venture into Svarta Kaffi. We were not disappointed, the soup was excellent, the staff attentive and the whole place had a great ambience. Ultimately you are eating soup from a loaf of bread and so obviously... More
