We had around Iceland set menu, the food was great and the service came with a smile and was very imformative about the regions
excellent food. we tried the tasting menu which is an amazing 11 course experience. For some dishes it is an acquired taste but that was just me...my husband really enjoyed everything. We went there to celebrate his 40th birthday and it was an amazing culinary experience. It is really a Michelin star experience. It is really busy so be sure... More
I loved the food at the Fish Market. We only had sushi, but it was the best I've ever had. It's a little pricey, but well worth since you're paying for great quality. The service was excellent.
Ambience, service, recommendations, freshness of ingredients and overall quality were very near the top. Are they five star trip advisor completely, value the issue. But it is Reykjavik and Iceland is not cheap. That being said the host, hostess, waitstaff and kitchen turned out a very nice and pricey meal. I'd recommend as a place for a very upscale experience... More

As the name implies, this is a seafood place. And it does not disappoint. The restaurant has a sushi menu (on last page), and while the fish is fresh, the portions are tiny. I would equate sushi to 23 rating on Zagats scale by NYC standards. Atmosphere is great and it is always packed.
Four of us enjoyed the tasting menu with wine.....plate after plate came through (prehapes a little rushed at one stage) of delicious beautifully presented food with generous topping of the wine glasses. Rock shrimp tempura was a highlight and minke whale interesting. When we thought we could eat no more, an amazing dish of desserts arrived - wow! We loved... More
We were advised to visit by our son's friend who is a tour guide in Iceland. Couldn't have been more pleased with his choice. Tried the whale - tasty; tried the puffin - gamey; tried the tempura prawns - excellent; tried the fish soup - fabulous and the langoustine sushi for main was devine. Expensive but worth it - don't... More

We ate at the Fishmarket our last night in Iceland. We both ordered from the sushi menu. The sashimi was as good as any we've had anywhere in the US. The tables are a bit close together but we soon struck up a consversation with both the people on the left and the right of our table. This was our... More
