We ate here on our final evening and it was a great way to end the break. When we opened the menu we were pleasantly surprised to find a whole extra page of sushi dishes that had not been displayed outside the restaurant. As with the other top end restaurants in the city, such as Grill Market and Fish Station,... More

Amazing restaurant, a must visit in Reykjavik. Excellent food and drinks. Waitstaff was extremely nice and attentive. Each dish was almost like art but not pretentious. We had a large party and everyone was thrilled with their choices.

Good location, nice staff, good food - but small portions. Only main course wont make you full. Got som free small tasters, but it wasnt enough to make us full. And we're not big people... We had to end up somewhere else to get full... But if you want cool food, its ok. But, cool places have often small portions...... More

Had 7 courses of fish and meat, one of bread, one with dessert, shared a bottle of wine. We arrived at 6:30 and enjoyed 3 hours of being served great fresh food with great presentation. Service was varied, some courses arrived too fast. Overall a wonderful experience in a nice old building, but $120 per person is more than I... More

We had such a wonderful experience with dinner our first night in Reykjavik that we went back two days later for lunch. As the name suggests, they serve fresh fish from local waters prepared with an Icelandic twist. For dinner, we started with a complimentary amuse bouche of salmon tartare. For apps, my wife chose the rock shrimp tempura and... More

Great setting, very fresh food (blueling one of the tastiest pieces of fish I have ever had), efficient service (though delivery varied - one waitress gave wonderful descriptions of each dish she served while others didn't say a thing). Suggest booking - I had a hard time getting a table at 6:30 on a Monday night. Reasonable prices for the... More

Went to the Fish Market for a business dinner and the group was very impressed with the quality and taste of the food there. It was at times even difficult to move the discussions from the food to other matters! The restaurant is in an old-style building in downtown Reykjavik and very nicely designed on the inside. Wood, stone and... More

Definitely try the sushi! Each sushi option on the menu is Chef's choice and is fantastic. We also had the monk fish and salmon as entrees which were beautifully presented and so delicious!

Numerous visits to Fiskmarkadurinn and always good food, good service and a very friendly manager. Excellent tasting menu (includes lots of raw fish and succulent whale meat), efficient service (better to eat there at 21:30 so there is no pressure to free up your table). On the negatives: the wine list is not so great and if you sit downstairs... More

Friendly staff. Nice atmosphere. Decent portions of local food, all very fresh and delicious. Reservations recommended, especially at the weekend. If you don't have one, you try to get in by coming early (6pm) and ask to sit at the sushi bar.
