Ate here as part of a package tour. Lobster was served already broken into pieces (unlike a New England clam bake), without potatoes or coleslaw or drawn butter (or clams). Those in our group who didn't eat lobster feasted on delicious pan fried Arctic char. There was a communal serving of salad, an appetizer of smoked salmon, and a skyr... More

Höfn is the capital of langoustine and the Humarhöfnin is definitely the place to eat there if you are interested in such a product. Note that actually langoustine is served and not lobster (sometimes noted in travel books). It is a Nephrops Norverigus specie (called “Langoustine”) which is a bit different than lobster (still it's the same family). Knowing that,... More

Humarhöfnin may in fact just have become my favourite restaurant in Iceland! Although Reykjavik has plenty of great places, Humarhöfnin has some amazing langoustine dishes, as well as a perfectly prepared lamb dish. I tried the half-cut langoustines where you need to work a bit to coax the meat out of the claws, as well as a dish with just... More

If you like langoustines and all kind of lobster, this is the place you want to spend your money in. With a very nice service and a great variety of lobster dishes, it is the perfect place to spend the time for a dinner or a lunch. Just walking down the main street on Höfn.

Ok, so it's a tad overpriced. And the decor ain't perfect -- but you'll forget all that after one bite of delicious lagostina, chased down with a bottle of the local beer. Why not go for the skyr/cookie dessert after? Staff is friendly and attentive. Facilities great. Pleasant jazz music in the background. Enjoy your visit.

You could smell the lovely garlic and fish from miles away. The langoustines were amazing! You can get some good mains for an okay price (since it is fresh it is worth it!). Also nice staff and good atmosphere!

This establishment has earned its reputation with excellent service and very well prepared langostine, the Hofn specialty. But also sample some of the other offerings, such as baked feta and smoked lamb appetizers. The local beer was also perfect for the meal. Humarhofnin is pricey, but well worth saving for. Check to be sure it's open as it's a seasonal... More

After reading the reviews on trip advisor, we were excited to dine at humarhofnin. So we were very disappointed on arriving Feb 19 to find out it is closed for the season. Not sure when the folks in recent posts actually ate there. Just want to let you know if you are planning a trip here in near future.

After driving a short while through this town we wind up in this place. We had the best langoustines dish ever! Service is friendly in an icelandic way. Prices are above moderate, but that is everywhere in Iceland. A place to recommend, even from Ben Stiller who has been here as well. Enjoy!

Not cheap - but the lobster was the best I've ever eaten. The restaurant was busy and very touristy. Our B&B Guesthouse Dyngia was, handily, just across the road.
