Yes we also waited... About 45 minutes on a Friday night, but it was totally worth it! We enjoyed the local brew while waiting, and then once seated we were treated to freshly baked bread, lobster bisque and the wonderful lobster tails... They look like shrimp but taste like lobster. They were accompanied by two sauces and a salad. An... More

We had to wait about 30 minutes for a table (at least there was a place upstairs for us to sit and wait). The menu isn't large, but we knew we wanted the Langostines. We weren't disappointed. The Langostines were excellent and there was a large portion served. The dinner is pricey, but it was worth both the wait and... More

We went as a party of 4, and waited about a half hour for a table due to it being crowded and one of the only dining options in a small, touristy town. When we were seated, it took about 5-10 minutes for the waiter to come, and he simply asked us what we wanted to eat (no greeting whatsoever).... More

Great meal. Get there on the earlyish side. We saw them telling people at 9pm that the wait was more than 30 minutes.

It was crowded, but the food was delicious, our first dinner in Iceland and it was a good one. I would skip the lobster bisque, as it wasn't like what I was expecting being from the states, and didn't hit the spot for me. Go for as much langoustine as you can stomach!

We were going to the Pakkhaus Restaurant but they were full for the evening. As it was we had to wait a while to be seated. These are not the lobsters that Americans know but more like a large shrimp. Ordered a whole lobster and it seemed that I got several...more than enough. Not cheap.

The local info girl recommended for atmosphere. It reminded me of an American Cafe with 4 star prices. They had lots of white wines listed by the glass but only one, a Chilean chard, was available. We were lucky and got in early, after us it was a wait or you needed reservations. The langoustine wasn't priced more outrageously than... More

We went here on recommendation from a friend, and we were blown away. The food here is fabulous - very simply cooked but excellent, specialising in langoustine done in a variety of ways. We had tails, and pizza topped with langoustine meat, and one of us had grilled Arctic char (so other options are available if you are not a... More

I don't see how you can go here and not get the langoustines (little lobsters, also called Humar). They were just fished out of the ocean and are better than lobsters or shrimp.
