Best meal in Iceland

So.....I'm allergic to shellfish, which is a real problem in Hofn! But our waitress said she also has this allergy and she recommended the Arctic Char, which was absolutely wonderful. I suggest you order the Langoustine of you eat here, it is a must order menu of the restaurant. The fish of the day was really good as well, cooked in the pan with potatoes and baked tomato with cheese on top.

I booked my 8-day trip to Iceland with Nordic Visitor, and my travel consultant hand-annotated a map with the small town of Höfn as our easternmost destination. Included in the annotation was the recommendation of a lobster dinner at Humarhofnin. "Humar" are the small, cold-water lobsters found around the coast of Iceland. They resemble the langoustines that I've had in... More

Humarhöfin is called the best place in town, and it is a good choice. Staff is very friendly and the meals are well made. But for sure the seafood is their speciality. The lobster soup was nice, although I had better ones in Iceland. My husband had lobster tails, which were delicious. I decided for lamb fillet, it was ok,... More

After eating in the #2 restaurant in Hofn last night and at Humarhofnin tonight, I fully agree that Humarhofnin deserves to be #1. Both restaurants have similar menus. The main difference is that Humarhofnin used more spices on the lobster tails, and I liked it. I also think that the service was a bit more attentive tonight. In both places,... More

Delicious food, VERY friendly and professional staff. Go for the whole lobster/langoustine, it's expensive but it's well worth it. Expect to wait a bit as all tables might be full when you get there, but again, it's worth it!

The Village of Hofn is known for it's lobster (langoustine) restaurants and this one has the best reputation for good reason. You can get them whole, just an abundance of tails, or a whole one and tails. You can get them in a sandwich or salad, etc. all ways are delicious. They come with a salad and are prepared perfectly. This... More

The place is lovely and the food was wonderful. We tried an assortment of langoustine items and all were wonderful especially the pizza. Definitely a must if you are near here.

My wife, my daughter and I had a great meal at Humarhofin during our ring road trip around Iceland. When arriving Höfn on a windy, gray and rather cold Friday in July we did not expect to find a restaurant as good as this. We had to wait for half an our in the bar upstairs before a table was... We went here to taste the langoustine, and we were not disappointed. After a short wait in the bar at the second floor we got a table, and ate delicious langoustine tails. It was a lovely meal, and the local beer was also very good. The waitress was cheerful, and the restaurant had a relaxed atmosphere, mostly because of all... More
