Delicious langoustine!

Delicious langoustine and bisque in a quaint but beautiful town. The staff were kind, spoke impeccable English and cooked a memorable meal. Wish there was one in Chicago!

I've been a chef and foodie for a long time and when my Icelandic friends say that they best lobster in the world comes from a small fishing town in southeast Iceland I put it down to local pride. Sensing my skepticism, I was summarily driven to Hofn and marched into Humarhofnin and told to sit and have a Viking... More

Firstly I got confused to choose wether langostine or lamb, and final choice was lamb and I didnt regret! The lamb heavenly taste good! Tender and tasty. It was big portion even quite pricey, but hey! Its Iceland! In couple years ahead u were not sure will be back again! Especially people like me that living in south hemisphere! Restaurant... More

The food was very good, but it was a bit overpriced and overhyped. I'd recommend it once. We didn't have reservations, but were lucky enough to be the last non-reservation couple to make it in for the night. (This was in September, around 7pm) Make reservations!

Wonderful fresh langoustines and a good wine list. The lamb dish was disappointing however - best to stick to their speciality

The restaurant is very nice, clean and upscale. Food is expensive in Iceland but I felt it was a bit more extravagant here. Plenty of people were eating langostinos around us but I could not bring myself to pay-the-price. Staff was attentive and the food we did get was good.

Everything is expensive in Iceland. Dont worry about it! 84000ikr for the big lobster platter that we shared. Amazing food, service and ambience.

The food was excellent especially the langoustine soup (called something Bisque). It is one of the best lobster soup I've had. Ordered a langoustine pizza which was fine but not too special. Also orderes a whole langoustine which was delicious but costed over 7,000 Kr. Overall this place is probably the best in Hofn but it definitely is on the... More

We stopped for lunch and we each had a lobster soup and shared a lobster pizza. Not only was it delicious, we were so full after wards. The staff was very friendly and allowed us to use their internet as we needed to book a room

My husband and I ate here on Nov 5 and it was a good meal. I enjoyed the langoustine tail dinner, this included a fresh salad and about 8 tails. My husband had the lamb which came with roasted potatoes, mashed sweet potatoes, roasted veg and a salad. The server was polite and have suggestions for dinner. Each of us... More

Dear climblikeagirl, Thank you very much for your kind review, we are very glad that you had an enjoyable dinner at Humarhöfnin. We are however a bit concerned over the price of your dinner, is there any chance the correct amount was 15.800 isk? :) Best regards, Eik Aradóttir More
