One of the best meals in Iceland

The food was delicious and service was excellent. My husband and I shared the Brandada starter - a sort of fish and potato gratin served with an amazing bread, a langoustine pizza, and of course - the langoustine tails. Everything was high quality, delicious, and memorable. I'm getting hungry just... read more

Best seafood I've ever had. Good service and friendly atmosphere. If you don't like seafood, I would not reccomend this restaurant as there are only two non-fish options (lamb and asparagus salad).

Brilliant food and service. Went there for dinner, it was already late and we had no reservation but we were so lucky we had a table in around 10 minutes. Superb staff and amazing food. Extremely busy place but still our order was taken within minutes, drinks and starters came in a blink and the mains followed quickly. Food was... More

Great food! We had no reservation and had to wait 45 min for a table, but it was totally worth the wait.

Recommended by Hotel Edda Hofn manager. We were not disappointed. Many restaurants were extremely busy as was this restaurant but we received a warm welcome and although we were told that we would have to wait we were offered the opportunity to have a drink in the bar whilst waiting. We only had to wait about 20mins before being shown to... More

As soon as we opened the door we were approached by the server who told us they were full at present but a table would be available in 30mins. Was invited to have a drink at the upstairs bar where we were served promptly. True to their word half an hour later we were shown to our table. The langoustines... More

We had a great meal here, after it was recommended by multiple people as a "must-do" while in Iceland. The trip to Höfn was worth it for this meal alone! Pretty much everything on the menu involves langoustines in one form or another, and we had several of the items, and all were delicious. There's a large variety of options,... More

We had the most amazing dinner here. We started with the lobster bisque. Which was good but had a peanut flavor. Ordered the Grande mix plate of Langoustine and tails. The Langoustine was incredibly seasoned and cooked to perfection. Finished with a capacciuno and all the deserts on the menu. Everything was incredible. We loved our dinner

Travelling through Iceland, we heard that Höfn gained a reputation for Lobster and Langoustines, so what better than testing the rumours for veracity on location. We had the Langoustine and Tails after Lobster Bisque and although the bill was quite dear, we didn't regret a single Kronar spent. Maybe it was the Sancerre which completed this unforgettable evening.

Having already tried the quite excellent langoustines at Fjöruborðið in Stokkseyri last week, I have to say that Humarhofnin does them even better. The complex lobster bisque had great depth of flavor. I had the "selected and cut tails", which was 7 langoustines that have been halved for easier extraction. The langoustines were very well seasoned and tender. For me... More
