I've been the the Strikið restaurant many times, since I'm a local resident. Always had a good meal there but I did not think I'd write a review about it. But today at lunch I tried for the first time langoustine tempura sushi, and I tell you, it's the best sushi I have ever had. Beautifully presented on the plate,... More

We had done some research on Trip Advisor and other sites before leaving for Iceland and decided to dine here. We made reservations ahead of time and that turned out to be a good decision. The restaurant is on the 5th floor of a building overlooking the water. It was crowded but we were seated immediately. We ordered a bottle... More

Arctic char appetizer, langoustine pasta and duck were all great. The duck portion was large especially for an upscale restaurant. The pasta was also big for a "light" entree. Plentiful warm bread and butter. Service was attentive. The langoustine salad on the next table also looked a good choice. Very good service

The location, on a rooftop in center Akureyri, is great and the burgers were tasty. The sushi however were really bad, tasteless with dry rice and the service was the only indifferent and unfriendly one we encountered in Iceland. Not a place I would go back to.

Good fish entrees,I had penne pasta with langoustine- delish! Waiter very friendly & informative. While clearing table scraps were dropped on one of our diners, very apologetic & meal was comped! Great view of harbor, nice outdoor patio ,on the fifth floor- there is an elevator!

We'd heard mixed things about this place, but this year on our third visit to the city we decided to give it a try. Even if it wasn't all that, it would still be worth it for the view. Well, we were really glad we did give it a chance, because we found it excellent. A yummy blueberry cocktail was... More

After our whale watching, we checked in a nearby Kea Hotel and was suggested Strikid. The Icelandic waitress told us this means line. All of us ordered the seafood as suggested by some friends in our tour group. Two of us had the cod with the gnocchi, which they enjoyed so much. I ordered the trio fish for main course... More

Had the lightly salted cod from their lunch menu. A perfect dish in my opinion. The fish was perfectly cooked and the bacon and chorizo complemented the cod brilliantly. Already longing for more. At abt 30 USD I believe this was fairly priced as well. Service was good, maybe the fact that there were only abt 10 other people there... More

Very popular in high season. For dinner, make a reservation or get there early. Get a coupon from the tourist center; this will entitle you to a 'tasting menu' with each main course. The night we were there, this was a small potion of goose, as well as some twice smoked lamb, which my dining companions loved. My friends were... More
