Nice atmosphere and good food

Ask for a table that has a view of the waterfront. We had the tasting menu. The lamb was delicious, perfectly cooked and seasoned. Other dishes were almost as good. A little expensive, but all the restaurants in Iceland are. Only downside was wine list which was expensive. The cheapest bottle was... read more

I dined here alone last night. I got the four-course menu, which had two fish dishes and a lamb dish, finishing with a skyr dessert. Each dish is on the a la cart menu, so there's nothing really special about the tasting other than a break in cost. Each dish was bland. The first dish -- fried red fish with... More

While traveling around Iceland - fine dining can be few and far between so during our evening in this city - we decided to eat on the 5th floor- Strikid. Friendly staff- my boyfriend tried the whale much to my horror and really liked it. His main course was puffin and fish - again, I was a little ill! He... More

great food and nice service - portions not too large but good, and icelandic prices (oh wait, we are in Iceland..!!), but I can only recommend it for the quality of food and originality of cooking. One of the best meals we had in Iceland. As with ANY other restaurant in the country, if you manage to eat before 7... More

After 2 weeks of travel around Iceland with friends, we decided to celebrate our last night together before we went in different directions for the final legs of our holidays. My husband and I had visited Strikid 4 years ago on our honeymoon, and recalling the fun rooftop venue, we booked dinner (reservations are a good idea). Killer sunset views... More

Up market, and worth every penny. Excellent food and service. There is a outdoor rooftop patio, but it was too cold to sit out mid-August evenings.

Although some trip advisors gave a good scoring, I'm totally not agreeing: small portions, I've eaten better lam in more modest restaurants, and the dessert missed any creativity and had no taste

Fantastic food if you want to eat like a local. The soups and salad bar are amazing! Service was great and felt like part of the family.

Passed through Akureyri and glad to have found Strikið. My partner and I had both had the sushi; one was a 16 piece platter (mixture of nigiri, maki and tempura-battered maki) and the other was just the maki tempura with langoustines. Everything was generally good, although perhaps not as exceptional as might be expected given the fresh seafood available in... More

The food is fresh and creative. It has a nice hip vibe. Seafood was fresh and the skyr dessert, delicious!
