We went with another couple on a saturday evening to Strikið for a simple dinner. We did not plan on having anything fancy. We were 4 in our group. We ended up ordering, Mixed sushi, hamburker, steak sandwich and chicken breast. The service was excellent, the food was great, and the views were amazing. Prices are in the mid range... More

On the 5th floor (elevator), a nice view across fjord and harbor, but the interior décor was plain. Food very good (had arctic char, leek soup and a lovely brownie/ice cream desert). service adequate. plating good but not spectacular. Overall, better than expected and satisfying, with probably best view in town.

A nice, open space with great views and attentive staff. Sushi was ok: sushi rice was undercooked and too vinegary, but most of the fish was good. The langoustines in the maki were very tasty, but overall the roll had too much fried dough on the outside. Based on other reviews, seems like other food options are better.

We went in for lunch around 4pm. The lunch menu was pretty good. Hubby had a burger with potatoes not chips because he didn't want chips. We asked the lovely staff whether they could change it to roast potatoes. They did it without problems which was great. I had salmon. It was good. I enjoyed it. The view and decor... More

Akureyri has a good selection of restaurants but after looking around town we chose this one and we were definitely not disappointed. It's not cheap but I think it is quite special and value for money. We had a selection of sushi as a shared starter and they were delicious, including a deep fried one which was very unusual. I... No matter how you spell it, this is a place to try when in Akureyri. Beyond the location and view, the chef has a flair for preparing and presenting food. The langoustine soup was light and delightful with large medallions of white tail meat garnished with slices of toasted coconut. The cod was pan seared to perfection nestled on pureed... More

We had dinner at this nice restaurant last night after a trip to myvatn. What you see is what you get. Balcony, romantic and you can see the city. The atmosphere is nice, friendly and intimate, and the beef and langostine is so tasty I wanted to order a second plate! If you have family or friends visiting in akureyri,... More

We came here for lunch in June 2014. The restaurant is located on the top floor of a five-story building in the center of Akureyri, and so the views are outstanding. From both inside and the outdoor deck, you get breathtaking views of the Eyjafjörður (fjord), Akureyrarkirkja (church), and the rest of town. The menu was fairly minimal, but consisting... More

We ate dinner here in June 2014. Atmosphere: the restaurant itself was on the 5th floor of a building in the city. It was very open and had outdoor seating on a rooftop patio which was very nice. We could look out and see the whole city and got some great photographs. It was a nice atmosphere inside as well... More

We agree that the view is nice, but the food and the service were far from enjoyable. We ordered the fried cod (very greasy) and the beef rib eye (very tough). For the price, we expected a much better meal. The service was slow and we felt ignored throughout our meal. We had spent the week in an RV driving... More
