Probably the best in town

Decent bakery with a pretty wide selection. The quality of the items and the price both seemed fair. I am not sure that you would find a better bakery outside of Reykjavik.

We enjoyed trying some of the traditional bakery items. The hot chocolate early in the morning was excellent.

Always fresh baked goods, great for coffee stop while exploring downtown. Lots of variety. They offer great options for lunch as well.

I tried out the place across the street first because a previous review said it was better. It is my humble opinion that it is most definitely not better then this place. Incredible selection of pastries and baked goods, we ended up picking up a bunch for the road because they were so delicious and reasonably priced. Service was attentive... More

This bakery was our choice for breakfast before leaving Akureyri. I had a million calories breakfast here and was worth it. They only have a couple of table. The food was very good and they have all the typical sweet and savoury snacks of iceland at a very affordable price.

Not as good as it just to be. But I was visiting on the weekend when festival "Ein með öllu" was helt so maybe I just came on wrong day.

After this visit to Kristjans, I have to believe Icelanders love chocolate! We tried the "half mani" which was a very thin white cake with a jam filling enveloped in marzipan and topped with chocolate. Surprisingly it wasn't too sweet! There were lots of familiar choices for desserts or savouries and a few that were new to us. There isn't... More

We tried several things and they were all good. The chocolate brownies with chocolate icing were delicious & so is the caramel round Danish. We also had pepperoni pizza that was good too.
