Nice little indoor market with lots of delicious food, great colours, small cafés (some with decent coffee!) and an excellent restaurant (the Four Seasons - try the bouillabaisse!). Should be on the must-see-list of any visitor of Tampere. There are toilets in the market, but they cost €1; you're better off at the Sokos department store next door, which has... More

Compared to the Barcelona markethall its of course just a tiny market thing. But all in all it was quite nice walking through it and they offer a couple of nice dishes, baking stuff etc.. You won't spend hours there but its sure nice to walk through it and maybe buy one or another thing there

Whether you want a meal, a snack, coffee, or food to purchase for cooking later, this market hall is fun and fantastic. It clearly is visited by the locals and that too is entertaining.

Your visit to Tampere will not be complete unless you pop in this great market hall. It is over hundred years old and some of the oldest stalls have been there for almost as long. You will find a variety of little stalls selling anything from pet supplies and health products to organic Finnish meats (elk, reindeer, horse) and hundreds... More

In central downtown location next to Sokos department store, well worth a visit to enjoy a cafe or get food to take away. A selection of non food retail shops as well. Bright and airy and not too crowded.

Small shops with outright nice people working on them. Not quite a Italian marker but as good as it gets in the north. I shall return again and again for the feeling

Kauppahalli is my favourite spot to have my morning Espresso, afternoon brunch, or occasional fine lunch in the French restaurant right at the very end. It has the spirit of Tampere in it and you should definitely try the famous blood sausages (Mustamäkara).

If you visit as a tourist in Tampere so you could go straight away to Kauppahalli in the middle of the city. Some good cafeterias (for example Kahvila Anitta), gourmet food (Restaurant Four Seasons), and also local fish market (Nygren). I have visited many times here in the morning, and I´ve noticed f.ex. Japan tourists, interested in Finnish raw fish.... More
