Food was perfect, I have never tasted better lamb. Also service was really good and friendly. The place to have dinner in Jyväskylä!

If you want to have great dinner in Jyväskylä, you should visit Pöllöwaari. Especially Jyväskylä Meny is worth trying. I have visited Pöllöwaari in business purposes and also with friends. It is good for both purposes.

Best part of dishes we ate was the outlook of portions, close to art. To start with you must try from new menu lobster starter, excellent taste. Pike-perch for main course was replaced by whitefish as restaurant had not managed to get fresh fish. Desserts were also delicious. More info and pictures reijosfood.com

The food has always been excellent there. Staff is professional and friendly. Try some time the wine tasting, for example the riedel tasting (45€/person, 4 wines, minimum 2 persons, reservation demanded).

Wonderful local food in a small hotel in central Jyvaskyla. Had a four course set menu; everything beautifully presented, extremely tasty and wonderful combinations of flavours. Very knowledgeable sommelier helped us wash down our food with good wine. Great selection of mocktails too - I had one made from tonic, gooseberry juice and rooibos tea - it was absolutely delicious,... More

We had a wonderful season menu dinner at Pöllöwaari in March 2014. The menu was built so that each step included also a dedicated sparkling wine / champagne with it. First we were served with monkfish & mascarpone together with cava (Agusti Torello Mata Brut Reserva 2009), then scallop with spring onion with English sparkling wine (Grosvenor Merret Blanc de... Great food, great wines - best service in Finland. We had a start dish: goat cheese with three types of sea-buckthorn, main course: lamb neck cooked overnight and many vegetables in different forms, dessert: mini creambrulee with fruits and sea-buckthorn in two forms. Great value for your money.

This restaurant is part of the Yopuu hotel. Do not be put off by the name. The decor is rather dark and traditionalist but the food is very good. We had the special nature journey menu. The best hollandaise sauce I've had. The veal was just melt in the mouth. Dessert was tropical fruits and mousse, again delightful . The... More

This place was excellent! Many of us in the party tried the "land" menu which included the lamb neck. It sounded a little risky, but we were assured by our waiter that it was excellent and after describing how it was prepared via slow cooking many of us decided to take a chance on it, as it is always nice...
