Great all you can eat breakfast with a tantalising mix of sweet (pastries and cakes) and savoury (eggs, cheese, charcuterie) as well as traditional breakfast items like yoghurt, fruit and toast. Decent coffee as well. Great value at 10 euros for the buffet and a great start to the day - I've eaten here a few times and, after breakfast,... More

This old-fashioned café in the center of Helsinki opens already at 7.30 AM, so it is a good idea to have your breakfast here. The atmosphere is quite nice, a bit old-fashioned and cosy. The breakfast costs 10,50 euros and includes good bread, eggs, some ham and cheese, vegetables, fruit and fruit juices. At the end you must try their... More

Every time I visit Helsinki I enjoy the delicious cakes and excellent coffee at this old-fashioned café. There is a great variety of cakes for any taste. The last time I enjoyed here the "Budapest" cake that was beyond praise, it was really melting in my mouse. We even popped in the next door "Ekberg" confectioners shop to buy more... More

Gorgeous setting with lovely looking cakes. Huge variety of sweet treats and breads. Staff is very friendly. A bit on the expensive side but a treat well worth!

Obviously this place is in Finland therefore the ambiance and general feel by default has to be Finnish. However if it is your first visit to Helsinki and if by any chance you have been to Bettys in York in the North of England - that is the sort of place to expect. Charming little café serving beautiful (both to... More

I was here last month, it was kind of busy but it was manageable. I had a quick lunch with one of my colleagues but it took a long time before our food was served (although it was really good). The staff was really nice, they told us some directions.

There is an Ekberg store where you can get your treats to take away and there is ANOTHER Ekberg next door where you can order a treat and sit down and have something to eat and drink, more of a cafe. I had one of the pulla's which was tasty. Good location near an indoor market.

Average breakfast buffet but due to high price rated as 'poor'; there are places around with much better price / quality (try 'Engel'), with good ambiance. Breakfast equals quality you also get in a decent hotel, only in the hotel you get at least your coffee served! Buffet does not reflect that Ekberg is bakery too.

We had a delicious buffet lunch at Ekberg's Bakery. There were many choices of food to choose from--sweet breads, salad fixings, soups and entrees. The value was decent and the quality high. We felt we had a good variety and each person in our party was pleased to find what they wanted.

We visited twice whilst in Helsinki. The brunch buffet is highly recommended, but when the buffet isn't on it becomes a more exensive posh cafe.
