I always bring all my foreign guests here. It’s timeless and represents Finnish culture at its best: unpretentious yet warm. You gotta try the classic Vorschmack with Duchess Potatoes. Prices are moderate. You always leave there feeling good.

Traditional finnish restaurant with lots of history. Famous finnish artists have been always loyal customers here. Old fashioned original retro style interior. Food is usually good but not so cheap. Service is sometimes good sometimes odd. Reservation recommended.

I had my first ever dinner at Kosmos. I have to say place glows history. Restaurant has very long history in Helsinki. Menu is quite wide and offers good selection for all kind of tastes. I had blini as my starter. I just was nice. On main course I had lamb. Oh my God it was good. But biggest delight... More

Very traditional Finnish Restaurant. Five of us went. Everyone loved it. We had quite the range of food but the fish dises are terrific and the Reindeer was excellent. Wine is way too expensive but that's the case with alcohol in Finland. The Govt. Seems not to care and the people don't seem to mind either or it would have... More

It had rained almost all day, so when it got to 17:00 we decided to have an early dinner. The restaurant was as described in LP and it was as though we had been transported back in time. We weren't sure what to have so my wife ordered the veal and I had the smoked reindeer - we swapped halfway... More

Cloak / reception man rude and also to charge 2.50 per jacket then rudely told you must wear you jacket if you don't cloak. Yet other people in restaurant having jackets over seats. Was ready to walk out after such a rude reception but the waiter who greeted and served was delightful & food was good. Pity about first impression.

90 years of good food. Established in 1924 this is one of my favorite places in Helsinki. They don't need to follow the trends and change every few years as those chain restaurants following all the hip things coming and going. They just service traditional Finnish cuisine year after year and that's just perfect. Food is excellent and the service... More

Having lunch at Kosmos with colleagues was a bit like a step back to a time when things moved slower and lunch could be enjoyed. The service was unhurried, but not unresponsive and the food was traditional Finnish fare. Some would say the atmosphere was sad or drab, but for me it was like enjoying a classic black & white... Good atmosphere but food very average. Salad starter was tired. Main fish course over cooked with too much sauce for the fish. Service excellent
