Description: Bellevue is the oldest Russian restaurant in Helsinki, founded in 1917 and has ever since been known for its good food and unique atmosphere. The old and valuable paintings, chairs and chandeliers take you back to the days of the Czar. The authentic Russian atmosphere is completed by classical Russian music in the background. Also the menu brings old Russian cuisine to you. The chefs are flexible and highly professional, so if one of your favorite classic Russian dishes is not on the menu, it is always worthwhile asking for it. There are also three private rooms in the restaurants.

This small Russian restaurant, owned by Finns sits in the shadow of the Orthodox church in Helsinki. It is charming, with wonderful food. Has a beautiful Saturday buffet including caviar. Lunch is less expensive, ample, delicious. Try the borsht. The setting is refine, beautiful. You can even dine in a small troika. The service and attention to detail is outstanding.... More

Russian cuisine on its best. One of those restaurants where you can relax in the distinguished atmosphere without wondering if something is going wrong. dont come here to eat "light", though there are some of that kind on the menu, too. Butter and cream are used without hasting. Blinis with vendace roe, Beef Novgorod and Chicken a la Kiev are... More

This long running Russian restaurant has a fitting location behind the orthodox cathedral. However, all the history did not sum up as a successful dining experience. We had displeasure of encountering one of the worst services we have ever found in Finland in a restaurant of this level. Pros: + Interior is quite cozy and fitting for a traditional Russian... More

We always visit Bellevue once when in Helsinki and the restaurant continue to deliver very good food and service. This time we had Borstij soup, next Blinis and after that Chicken Kiev and Cabbage rools. Everything excellent cooked and in large portions. When you are done, you are really full. This time we experienced the service level at Bellevue when... More

Excellent service and food. We arrived at 10pm being the only clients but we were greeted with great attention and good mooded staff, something hard to find when you arrive for dinner so late. We had the caviar (why not??) and the season salad for starters and a stroganoff and white fish for main course. All of the dishes were... More

Tried Saturday Zakuska buffet this time. Almost all the items they have on the menu, really enjoyed the fishes and cabbage pie! Unfortunately they didn’t take foreign credit cards on that day so I was almost in a trouble…

Went there for a business lunch, and the place was sort of half-full. The service was very slow, although friendly, but with a hint of arrogance. The borsts soup was great, but only luke warm. The cucumbers with honey and sour cream great as well. The main course (Chicken Kiev) was ok, but also only luke warm. I didn't take... More

First: the Bellevue with its history going back to 1917, is worth a visit. The atmosphere is cosy and "russian" - the food is well made, but not that special. No doubt the taste is very close to authentic old russian cuisine, but do not expect high level gourmet. There was only 4(!) guests in the restaurant that evening. Friendly... More

My Russian companion and I pondered over this question as we commenced our meal. "Bellevue" suggests French but the cuisine claims to be Russian. Sure, there is reindeer and bear on the menu with the usual Chicken Kiev and Beef Stroganoff. But the presentation is French. I thought of suggesting that Russian cuisine was, perhaps, an oxymoron. However, that may... More
