Highly entertaining mix match of meat and sea creatures. I did love the concept, you just eat and talk with your friends and all the time there is coming small portions to table. Nice crew, nice environment. Tasting menu 66 euros and it`s absolutely worth it.

We had the full tasting menu, which includes approx. 10 items. The food is carefully prepared and provides very interesting and tasteful dishes and combinations. The menu is largely seafood and meat, so this is not a great match for someone preferring primarily vegetarian dishes. Not my favorite, but worth a try if you are looking for something different.

We took a menu of ten courses to try to taste more of japanese food. The first astonishment was a starter drink with cucumbers - it was the first time for me to find a combination of alcohol and cucumbers - I liked it. The staff did their job really wonderful - we were informed not only what we were... More

We'd booked a table for a celebratory dinner at this famous restaurant. However, our party included a vegetarian with coeliac disease, and it turned out that there was pretty much nothing on the menu she could eat. Two pescatarians also faced a choice between eating lamb or nothing. We enjoyed out champagne aperitif but had to bow out and go... More

I have avoided the restaurant for a long time. I rarely enjoy the idea of taking great cuisines of Asia, Chinese in its different provintial varities, and Korean and Japanese cuisines, and trying to make a fusion of the senses. Sadly it confirmed that it was a task Gaijin did not succeed in. We ordered a small selection of Dimsum... More

Visited the restaurant for a staff dinner and wow were we amazed. We had six gorgeous courses (meals) in a row and sampled a variety of drinks from beer, cocktails, sake and even tequila. I would rate Gaijin as one of the top ten restaurants in Helsinki to bring a date. Interior design is spacious, a mix of Nordic and... More

Very nice restaurant with a relaxing atmosphere. Good Asian fusion food. Quantity of food could maybe be more :) . I would not call it Japanese cuisine though

Great blend of Asian fusion tapas style dinner choices, with wine pairings, recommend the pairings, they were great, and went well with each course, worth the money, fun atmosphere as well

Who would have thought to find an excellent Japanese-crossover Restaurant in Helsinki? For a very good price (68 E) you can eat a surprising 8 course meal, with high class food like duck liver with smoked eel, giant scallop in a special sauce, very good sushi etc. - all served by very friendly and efficient staff. Sometimes seasoning is a... More
