A long time ago

I visitidet the restaurant more than a decade ago. Russian food, good, but on the costly side (as Russian restaurants tend to be in Finland)

A nice, peaceful place with an old Russian decor. The service was professional and friendly. PS. The sauerkraut soup was excellent.

The best sauerkraut soup on Earth, have been raving about it and attempting to recreate it for friends and family. A great introduction to Russian cuisine! Also, the sweet gherkins with honey and sour cream. Not to be missed!

If you are looking for a real experience of Russian cousine in (Northern) Finland this is THE place to eat! Like a real russian athmosphere makes you feel you really are somewhere over Finland's east border. Service is excellent and professional but friendly. Menu is really good and food... what can I say? I think the best Russian restaurant in... More

This Russian themed restaurant has not changed a bit in 30 years. This is both in good and bad. There is the same old menu, so you know what you get, but on the other hand some dishes would have deserved facelifts over the years. For regular visitors this becomes very dull, especially because many main courses have identical garnish.... More

Very small restaurant (10 tables?) with hodgepodge Russian interior decorations (icons, samovars, etc.). Á la carte menu consists of rather imaginatively named dishes e.g. "Prince Gagarin´s Rapid Despatch" and is rather long cosisting of cold and warm appetizers, house specialities, soups, meat and fish dishes, poultry and of course desserts (including my favourite dessert "Rum Pancakes with Ice Cream"). There... More

We've visited Zakuska multiple times during the last years with my wife and while Zakuska appears to be quite highly praised in many online reviews, I'm afraid I have to disagree with most of them. Even at best, the food is rather mediocre albeit tasty. Not once, not even twice, have we received some dishes cold -- almost frozen. Just... More

Service VERY slow, but worth the wait. Centre of Oulu, but not too pricey.

Sooo many tasty things here, In this place the starters are better than most of the meals. Meals are good but just disguised finnish meals. I usually have couple of starters and golden horde tea. My Best List: Russian bird or fish salad - caviar at a tasty price Bilateral mushroom salad - mushrooms and sourcream Zakuska plate - Big... More

The menu is a good read in itself. i have tried this restaurant on more then 4 occasions and i have to admit that i was impressed every time. The lamb chops with jelly and galic butter is my fav. expect 30-40 euros per head.
