A delightful, dreamy lunch

We had the set lunch 'Bistronomique', on a Saturday, in the courtyard of the restaurant. The restaurant was quite busy. Under a shade, near the well, we ate exquisite food, washed down with a lovely 50 cl bottle of rose (more restaurants should offer that size of bottle). A poached egg starter, a... read more

This was recommended to us and we weren't disappointed. Despite our school French they immediately picked up on our Englishness and communicated with us at ease. It's a quirky set up, where you decide the size and choice of your Neal The food was delicious, the sorbets heaven. Good wine list not too expensive. Very satisfying experience

It's been a couple of years or so since we last reviewed this gem of a restaurant in the lively and lovely little town of Cajarc. Evgenia and Claude Emmanuel have worked tirelessly to give their customers a memorable dining experience and it keeps getting better. Tonight we enjoyed an exceptional meal of carefully selected, beautifully presented local ingredients with... More

We were staying in Cajarc for a long weekend and booked this restaurant as it was nearby. We were greeted by the owner/chefs wife and made most welcome, we had the French menu explained to us and enjoyed a wonderful evening meal. It was so good we revisited for Sunday lunch with two friends and we all thoroughly enjoyed working... More

Pretty courtyard to sit in when the weather is good. The lunch menu whilst on the small side was lovely, I'm told the evening is a gastro feast not to be missed so next trip we will be back to try it.

We ate at this restaurant, one of several times in August. On this occasion we took the plunge of eating from the 'testing' menu .....and what an experience! Every single taste was different and exciting ....I tried things I would not have the courage to have tried otherwise and each taste was an experience and a discovery. Not only was... More

My wife and I had the 'Bistronomique' lunch out on the very attractive terrace- three courses for 19.50 euros. For the high standard of cooking, this was very good value for money. Carpaccio of beef with a walnut pesto, lovely flaky hake with courgettes in tomato sauce and superb fried potatoes and an exceptionally light and imaginative choux pastry dessert... More

The staff were very friendly and helpful, quite a nice setting, but there are better place to find an economical lunch menu. Caesar salad instantly forgettable, duck with orange OK, but one portion overcooked, and sweet OK. Coffee good, but served with revolting petit-fours. Perhaps it's a different story with their main menus, but I wouldn't go back there for... More

We have just spent 7 days in the Cajarc area and enjoyed two meals in L'Allee des Vignes. Both of them were superb... The first was a try out for their forthcoming menu, and the second was from their a la carte options. The food was imaginative, tasty, and best of all served by a staff that successfully manage both... More

We had a lovely meal in the v pretty garden of this excellent restaurant. We took our two children aged 4 and 7 and they could not have been more accommodating, cooking separate dishes for them. The service was impeccable and the food lovely - especially the desserts which were amazing! Ask for candles if you want that extra ambiance.... More
