I dropped in here on the way back from the harbour. They have a large selection of beers on tap and many whiskies. Ol meaning beer would be a clue for Swedish speakers. I opted for a black Kostrize lager, a first for me. Half a litre at SEK 61 is well priced for Gothenburg. The décor is really good... More

I had to visit a place that at any moment serves around 400 different kinds of beer, of 1000 that they have... When you see the beer list, you really need some help, and the bartender will gladly help you..if you can't decide what to drink you can try a sample... The only problem with this place is that it's... More

Great choose of beers, the food is nothing special, also over priced for the quality that you receive,I mean fish and chips and hamburger nothing special, the tartar is not really well made,so I really suggest just for drink some nice different beer.

We went for lunch, and opted for pulled pork and fish and chips. All good, but nothing extraordinary. The selection of beers where great, including a large selection of taps. However the beers where only served in 0,3l and up and no tasters/smaller sizes where possible (according to a grim barkeeper). If you really want to communicate and reach out... More

There is a "thing" for so-called English-pubs at the moment in Gothenburg (perhaps the whole of Sweden), which usually means a bar decorated to resemble a Victorian parlour pre-electricity: low lighting, flock wallpaper, dark furniture and paintings of hunts and/or ships on the wall. This is normally accompanied by so-so beer, mediocre food and not the most pleasant of staff.... More

This is...amazing. My friend took me and my partner here, and we would NEVER have found this ourselves. First, the staff are amazing. Passionate about their product and really welcoming - like something out of Cheers. I am not a huge fan of beer, but the guy and gal worked with me to find beers/ciders that I could found palatable.... More

The beer selection is exellent, but a bit pricy. the food was very ggod, we had the beef tartar. the sides was unusual, but worked very well with the tartar. All in all, if you are a beer hound and need a snack, go there!

I will be honest: we did not feel entirely welcome when we walked into Ölrepubliken. The main waiter seemed laconic, overly serious and, to put it simply, not at all happy to have us at his place. He was not rude at any point, he just did not seem very welcoming. As the night progressed, we realised that that was... More

a paradise for beer lovers, there is a very big choice, the staff knows how to advise customers and direct them to the appropriate type for the your palate. Unfortunately, the prices are, at least for us tourists, very high. Anyhow, recommend going there

Beers variety is just amazing at this bar. Lots of ALEs, IPAs, Weiss, pilsens, lagers. I ate a spicy barbecue rib and it was just perfect! If you're really fond of beers, thats the bar to go in Gothenburg!
