I'd arrived in Gothenburg on a Sunday evening to be told that there were not many places open and i had a recommendation from my hotel to eat at Smaka.. The meatballs are a speciality and they don't disappoint. Staff were really friendly and gave recommendations for where may be good for drinks after dinner. Why only 4? I'll have... More

Went to Sweden for the first time and was getting a bit worried with the high cost of life. Everything seems to be so expensive. We were recommended to go for a meal here by the nice guy in the tourism office. He got it right, we had a very nice meal, typical meat balls, and it wasn't that expensive... More

My friends and I went here for a really nice meal, my friend and I where both on very low budgets so we decided to share a plate of meat balls and mash for 139SEK everything was off an excellent quality though and I would defiantly want to go back :)

I ate here twice while on business in Gothenburg. Never having been to Sweden before, we were somewhat horrified by the prices of meals in restaurants - Smaka was comparitively very reasonably priced and offered excellent value for money. The service was excellent. When i asked the waitress which main meals on the menu didn't have cream in them as... More

I found this restaurant online whilst enjoying a short city break in Gothenburg with my girlfriend. Most of the reviews I read were very positive so we decided to book a table for the Saturday night and we were not disappointed! It's only a small place but what they lack in size, they make up for in food quality! Only... More

Great Swedish meal! We shared the Tomato and Red Onion Salad as well as the Swedish Charcuteries for starters. The Charcuteries plate had prosciutto, venison deli sliced meat, reindeer sausage and chicken/duck pate with grilled garlic toast and a wonderful cheese sauce. We could have stopped there but no we had already ordered entrees. My husband had the Wild Boar... More

Smaka is never wrong. I have been there perhaps 20 times, sent there a number of people and it has always been a success. The menu is seasonal, with some constants, such as the super-classic meatballs, delicious in their simplicity. I recommend to stick to meet (or vegetarian) dishes. The service is excellent. As other views say, the place, and... More

We ate dinner. Service was great. Nice, cozy, warm environment with great food. All while a big snow storm was blowing outside. Real Swedish meatballs were YUMMY!!!! Venison filet was great too (sooooo tender). Overall, great meal & glad we chose this place. Highly recommend!

We ate at Smaka for our one evening meal in Gothenburg. We had tried to make online reservations (not using the Smaka site) and they didn't work, apparently. The concierge at our hotel called and Smaka was able to fit us in at 6. They have a limited draft beer selection, but had a bunch of local stuff in bottles.... More

I have eaten at Smaka a couple of times and always been happy with the food. The service is excellent. My concern is however the environment. The restaurant has looked the same forever and is getting rather worn. Why not try to create a warmer ambience instead of these cold, blue walls and stripped tables? The toilets were very unfresh.
