After wandering down a lonesome road in Stockholm, looking for Lao Wai, we found this unobtrusive little place packed to the gills with happy eaters. One hardworking waiter cared well for the whole restaurant. And, oh my! The food was extraordinary. Everything is vegan, gluten-free, and without MSG. Though I am not a vegetarian (my husband is) it was one... More

Really good food but a bit expensive. Dishes cost from 195 SEK and upwards. Very friendly and smiling staff (1 person only) Small place, and we had not booked.. So luckily we got a table being just 2 persons. Small menu, but who cares? All vegan :-) We had a mushroom dish with tofu and rice, delicious. And though every... More

This place was recommended to me by a work colleague. The restaurant is tiny with very few seats so fortunately we had booked. The menu is quite limited, however, there was a good choice of interesting sounding dishes. I really enjoyed the food. Everything is vegetarian and it a really good change to be able to pick anything from the... More

This place has some very well tasing chinese food. It might not (or maybe it might, I'm not sure) be what you'd call authentic chinese cousine but when it tastes like it does here, who cares? There are some well known classic dishes on the menu (e.g. Mapu Tofu) but they don't come in any way we've been served them... More

Visited on the strength of the lonely planet review & was not disappointed. Excellent tofu dishes, very tasty although if you like spicy food it might be worth mentioning this when you order. Not sure how it rates for value as everything here seems expensive!

Super minimalistic decor, could be a labour cafe Straight-forward menu, two starters and quite a few not so well-known, vegetarian dishes. Impossible to pronounce the names of the dishes, however they are quite tasty, with genuine Chinese flavors. It's better if you go together with other people and share your dishes so you can try as many different as you... More

This was a lovely meal from start to finish. Everything was delicious. My carnivore son was also really impressed. It has a lovely relaxed atmosphere. The staff are all really friendly and the place although small is very comfortable. Unsurprisingly it is really busy so get there early or book ahead.

As a vegetarian, it is a delight to come to a place that serves ONLY vegetarian dishes and a great variation of them. Asian touch of course, but you can choose to eat spicy and not to.

I was there with my omnivorous boyfriend and we both agreed that we had the best meals ever. The meat substitutes are amazing and taste like meat. It was packed as it is a small and very busy place but if I ever have a chance to go back to Stockholm, I'd eat there all the time without hestitation.

Lao Wai is definitely not a restaurant for only vegetarians. The food is tasty and the atmosphere is relaxed. The place is small so it often gets full and sometimes the service is a bit slow but our waiter was very friendly. The menu has many options and if you have problems with choosing, you can easily ask for advise.... More
