Its interesting to me that the prices aren't posted. When I asked the kitchen attendant how much my take away order would be he said 32. As I searched for my wallet a very pleasant server who had not heard his colleague, announced that my order would be 29...which is of course the price I chose to pay. I wonder... More

Wonderful café located right at Stortorget in the old city. There is a lovely outside seating area – terrific on a great summer day. We were pleasantly surprised by our sandwiches which were amazing and tasted so good. The cakes looked very delicious, but we were too full after our sandwiches. Definitely recommend for a lunch or coffee break.

Chokladkoppen was a place I looked for in the Old Town for a quick coffee break as it came highly recommended. It was a very busy place with tables taken as soon as someone left. Since the tables are on the "patio" in front of the restaurant, it was easy to see if one could get a table. Inside were... More

We had a bag stolen from a corner inside the café. Only persons passing by our table were the waitors. When asking them to help find the bag they couldn't care less and really had attitude problems. Beware of pickpockets inside this coffe place, or just don't go there...

We were warned that meals are expensive in Stockholm. We stumbled across this place with decent prices by comparison, on a lovely square. Admittedly the rainbow flags caught our attention too, although the crowd was primarily straight. The food was very good, we shared the chicken curry sandwich and the salmon and spinach pie. Would go back and would recommend.

We liked this enough to visit 3 times. It does attract Swedes as well as foreign students (Americans, some obviously studying in Copenhagen were particularly evident while we were there). Cakes are good, it's dark inside and cramped when full, but that only adds to the atmosphere.

Tiny little place on the courtyard where you can watch the world go by. Great food. Desserts are worth saving room for too. This place seems to be owned by the restaurant next door and food actually is brought over from there.

Here we had 2 hot chocolates plus a cinnamon scroll. I've had a lot of hot chocolates in Sweden but this wasn't one of the better ones. My Cinnamon scroll wasn't fresh - it tasted like the day before.

Chose to visit based on Lonely Planet top recommendation. Full of tourists as a great spot to people watch in the sun - which is to be expected given the location, and which might also justify the disinterested service. What it didn't justify was the stale cinnamon roll and average coffee.

The place is a small little cafe in Gamla Stan. Really quaint and old worldly but I really found the hot chocolate here overhyped. Its a great place on sunny days where you can sit outdoors and watch the world go by but don't expect the best hot Chocolate.
