Me and 9 collegues had a fantastic dinner at det 1 star restaurant Matbaren. We wanted to try the 2 star Matsalen but it was a maximum of 5 people raring together. The food was excellent. We were choosing 4 courses and got to full. 3 courses should med more than enough. Pricerange SEK 200-450 per dish. Some dishes (crab)... More

Had a great meal in Matbaren during a recent visit to Stockholm. The concept is great, and quite unique for a Michelin Star (Matbaren is a 1 star, the adjoining Matsalen is the 2 star). Courses are medium sized, and work like tapas. We started out with one each, had another each, then shared one of the dessert plates. When... More

We had a lovely birthday dinner at Matbaren, the staff was of course very attentive and the food good to great. Matbaren is awarded with one Michelin star, so of course we always expect a little bit more. The idea is to select one dish at a time, the portions are small to medium-sized and you will need at least... More

Unfortunately, we decided to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary at Matsalen. One of my top ten meals ever was at Mr. Dahlgren's first restaurant about 16-17 years ago. If you ate at that restaurant (or even the subsequent one), and hope to relive the glory days - forget about it! I still remember my entire meal at Bon Lloc (Kungsholmen).... More

We chose to splurge a bit in Stockholm and dine at Mathias Dahlgren's Matsalen restaurant in the Grand Hotel on our second evening. It was an interesting experience, with many extra touches which add to the enjoyment. For example, after champagne in the holding area we enjoyed hot hors d' oeuvres in a small kitchen area en route to our... More

During a recent trip to Stockholm, a group of us had booked a dinner here and, based on the reviews of the place, we were looking forward to an excellent meal – unfortunately, our overall experience was mediocre at best. The first issue had to do with the seating. We had a group of 8 and were crammed into a... More

Had the chance to pop in for lunch at the Marbaren at the counter and we took it. Great decision! The place has a modern bistro like feeling about it with a Nordic touch. Very good service and professional staff. Loved pretty much evey bite. The raw scalops with mushroom, great. Very nice deer tartar. I wish I could recall... More

My partner and I were on the waiting list for three different days at matsalen as it was fully booked a week in advance. We got lucky and were getting an email to confrim a free table at saturday evening. When you confirm your booking you've to give your creditcard number and they charge you 1 SEK. When you don't... Got a recommendation from Ira, a local guide in town hall, it was the best recommendation we got. Sitting on the bar in front of a lovely waitress, we ordered one by one excellent innovative dishes. Scallop carpaccio , was unforgettable , don't skip the desserts
