Matsalen is a modern gastronomic restaurant. Our cuisine is based on using the best fresh produce available here and now in Sweden and other parts of the world, spiced with curiosity and inspiration from everything we encounter. "The natural cuisine" is a menu that changes with nature and the seasons. We pair wine, beer and other beverages with each of the dishes we create. All the producers we work with are meticulously selected, they produce something we like. Our menu and drink offering - like the fresh produce - are living and change with the time of the year.

This is a great restaurant for couples as well as business meetings. the staff is friendly and attentive, and the food is fun, beautiful and filled with michelin-quality-flavours. I would certainly come back here, but I would also be really really happy if they had other wines than "naturviner" (ecological, no additives, produced by small vineyards in the old-fashioned way... This place was a wonderful surprise and a delightful memory of my recent trip to Stockholm. It's elegant and sophisticated with an amazing helpful and gorgeous staff. The minute you sit down (I sat at the counter), you are given a tray with a bag of bread and wonderful Swedish butter. The menu is your placemat and it's explained to... More

The dinner started with a presentation of the kitchen, followed by four small appetizers at the kitchen counter. An innovative welcome and delicious creations! This warm and different welcome was enhanced be the charming small talk by the two chefs who prepared and served the appetizers. A unique, and probably trendsetting, approach to bringing your guests into the dining room.... More

We went to this place based on the Swedish press for the chef. The decor is very cool and the service was just the right amount of attentive. We shared one appetizer and then each had two plates of our own, plus a dessert each and wine. The food was inspired, very interesting combinations that evidently vary according to availability... It's located in an old an classic hotel in Stockholm. The decoration is modern, cool, trendy, dark and cozy. Good to impress a new partner. Although it's a fancy place the service is natural. The menu options are modern cuisine also made with local ingredients. However there are more common options to eat. I chose a deer's heart with a... More

This was really extraordinary. Sat at the bar with a business friend and had a great team service expense that was perfect, absolutely perfect, approachable and knowledgeable about the food and the wine. The menu is small plates, each of us had three with no dessert. A special that night was seared reindeer chops, like perfect lamb lolipops with crispy... More

Without any doubt Stockholm's (probably Sweden's, maybe Scandinavia's) best restaurant for both lunches and dinners. Amazing, superbly prepared and presented dishes. The interior in the lunch bar is stylish funky modern while the dinner room is elegant. An absolute must if you want to eat well in Stockholm.
