Easy to find behind the opera, this place excels in many ways, it is unpretentious, service is fast and efficient, food is great! Last it is very affordable in this very expensive city! It is worth patronizing again and again!

Decor, service, atmosphere, delights of the palate and the wines, ahhhhhh they were all grand. We had a magnificent evening. This was a surprise organised by my husband and it was just perfect.

You might expect Oscar Wilde to walk in the door of this gorgeous Art Nouveau, wood carved café on the back side of the opera house. We were meeting friends for dinner, so didn't have time to dine, but stopped in for a drink and appetizer. These, in my opinion, are absolutely the best meatballs in the country. Ya hear... More

Prepare to spend the evening there....the food and the service are the show. Elegantly pressed, either pre-fixe or ala carte, each course ( and in between) are presented like acts of a play. Fish for the evening was Artic Char and Striped Perch. Lamb, beef and Quail complete the menu. Try the chocolate dessert to complete your experience. 3 1/2... More

Restaurants in Stockholm are in general expensive - Operakallaren is at the top end of this spectrum. There were four of us for dinner and the total bill was over £1000. We all opted for the Degustation Menu with matching wines - in the case of the two ladies, they were able to opt for half portions of the matched... More

We enjoyed a magnificent meal in this restaurant. The venue was refined, and the staff were charming to a one. We opted for the seven course tasting with wine experience. This was not too large at all, and was truly one of the finest dining experience of my life. It did come with one of the finest bills I have... More

This was my second visit to Operakalleren - it was the Swedish Meatballs which drew me back and again I was not disappointed. A delicious starter of crayfish salad set the tone and, though not cheap, the quality and taste of the food was excellent. If the weather is fine customers can sit out on the verandah type decking, but... More

Went here on our first night in Stockholm and were absolutely blown away by the quality of the food! Quite expensive but worth it! Our taste buds were pleasantly surprised!
