Popular and good Swedish cuisine

Without reservation on a Saturday evening we managed to get a (small) table outside. Service is excellent as is the food and wine although even for Swedish standards on the expensive side. Seems to be very popular and trendy for couples and small families (6 people). There is a nice bar downstairs... read more

We were told this place was good so got the tube to it on the 29th July in the evening to try it. We were given a table at the entrance, menus handed out then left like lemons for 25 minutes while the man in the suit fawned over 2 young girls & played with their dog. After playing with... More

Should not be missed when in Stockholm. Try Biff Rydberg (Beef Rydberg) or Wallenbergare (a kind of minced meat calf burger with green peas and mashed potatoes). This is a place frequented by artists and tourists from all over the world.

The most challenging thing about Prinsen is what to choose from their menu. I could have gone for any of them. They have a section which translates as 'Home Cooked Food' which according to the waiter is what he would go home to on an average evening. Lucky guy. It was truly delicious. Sit outdoors on the benches and watch... More

We have had several very good meals at Prinsen. The service is always first rate and the food is excellent. The menu is not cutting edge, but that is not a bad thing and the meals are always quite good. Sitting outside, even on cooler evenings with a blanket, is lovely with great people watching.

The lunch today was really great! Meatballs were perfect, local beer was outstanding, nicoise salad was quite original - not exactly the real french way of cooking, but still great, especially the grilled tuna fish. I will definitely recommend this place to my friends. Thank you!

This place is very much a classic European pavement bistro. The food is a mix, albeit on a fairly limited menu, but I stayed with the classic Swedish plates. My mixed platter starter was scant, but tasty - given the choice again I'd be asking for just the smoked reindeer with loganberry or the lime cooked salmon, but they weren't... More

The smorgasbord with the herring, reindeer and shrimp on is delicious, a definite must. And the fish stew is also lovely. Service was good, waiters very friendly. Good atmosphere in the restaurant and cute outdoor area for pre-dinner drinks.

Our first night in Stockholm we ate at this little restaurant. No reservation but we were offered at little table outside. It was a little chilly but they came around with pashminas to wrap around us to keep the chill off. Lovely dinner and great food. Excellent wait staff also. Very nice dinner.
