Monks Porter House is must to visit if you are a beer enthusiast and like good food. The location is awesome in fabulous old build with rooms on the ground floor and in the cellars. Under ground level you are walking from stone cellar to brick cellars until you find your table where a friendly Swedish girl states she is... More

The food is really bad. The mussels dosen't tasty much besides saltwater. The Whole roasted suckling pig was waaay to salty. The Porter steak was really stiff, you had to chew on it forever. We ordered a 75cl beer for 200 sek but the waiter served a 33cl beer. We said that this is not what we orderd and showed... More

It a nice looking place in old historic buildings. The waiter was actually good and servicemindend, but much of the menucard was not available that night, and the meals we had was not wellprepared (beef was dry and overcooked, sides not ineresting, only one traditioanlly dessert available). Maybe a bad day, but there are so many other good restaurants in... More

In an old building in the old town, Monks houses its Porter House bar (it has other locations in the city with other themes). Brewed in their own brewery on Wallingatan, their own porters are fantastic and are quirkily named after the Swedish King and Queen's three children. I preferred a pint of Madeleine myself! The staff also know their... More

We went only for their wine tasting. We had been to other wine places around Gamla Stan, but this place was by far the best. The two servers were extremely knowlegable and were excited about what they did. You would swear that they were co-owners by the way they took care of the customers. We tasted 5 different wines (and... More

Went there for beers only. They had the biggest De Molen-selection I have ever seen. They also had some vintage-beers. Did not try their food, as we were there to late, but we were treated with a complementary chocolate dessert (probably because we bought their most expensive beers, and they did not have what we asked for). Knowledgeable staff. The... More

Located in an old wine cellar, this place has great atmosphere. The food (BBQ buffet) was ok, but nothing special. Lots of micro-brew beers available.

Very nice food and homemade beer. Nice staff as well, but can't visit to often due to high price. The old vaults in the cellar are worthy of a visit themselves
