A wonderful experience and less corny than it looks

Before visiting Aifur, I had the general impression that it would be extremely cheesy and touristy. I was very happy to discover that the experience seemed more historically-focused than tourist-focused, and we had a delicious and unforgettable meal. Before visiting Aifur, I had the general impression that it would be extremely cheesy and touristy. I was very happy to discover that the experience seemed more historically-focused than tourist-focused, and we had a delicious and unforgettable meal. The restaurant is in an old stone cellar, intricately decorated and completely filled with lovely details - viking helmets, axes and armour... More

Even though Aifur is a bit touristy, it was great fun and definitely worth trying while in Stockholm. As many have mentioned, you're "announced" when you enter the dark, cavernous dining room and are shown to your communal table. We opted for a charcuterie plate, venison and lamb, and washed our meal down with the house mead--all were quite good.... More

Ladies & Gentlemen, may I introduce to you Aifur Krog & Bar! We received a public introduction as we were taken to our seats on the long bench tables. It was a fun venue to visit, the food was hearty & filling, whilst the earthenware plates and goblets enhanced the theme. Then add to that waitresses in period clothing and... More

With it's traditional Viking seat assignment (long tables, sitting one opposite to another) and the way for example cutlery looks like, you might start wondering what are you looking there. But, if you are meat lover, don't miss this place, food is excellent from start to finish

It's great to drink there, the mead is very nice though expensive, sadly there's not a lot of space to sit only to drink. To eat it's kind of uncomfortable and tight though really feel the viking atmosphere. Not so many dishes to choose from.

We only went to the bar twice during our stay. It looks really great and has a huge choice of not so common beers and meads. The bar is rather small and when you arrive late it may be hard to get a place. You have to be lucky then. When we arrived around 18:00 we took the last 2... More

I had dinner here last week with a friend. The décor is great and the table settings were really keeping in theme with the restaurant. We went for the Rurik's feast which is basically a mixed grill type of dish and was amazing. The food was really tasty and the portion was generous. And my friend thought the Cava was... More

Absolutely great restaurant. An exciting atmosphere, sharing the viking meals cheek to cheek with other (unknown) diners, surrounded by the joyful cries of people and by the ones of the herald announcing the newcomers. There was also a bagpipers concert during the evening. Food was amazing: great venison with a mushroom cream and currant sauce; steak served with a confit... More
