Good atmosphere

Good atmosphere with live music and lots of beer and chatter. Good burgers to choose from. Darts boards downstairs if you feel like some arrows.

Great buzz at The Liffey. I was there during a short trip in Stockholm and I had a couple of Guinness while watching some rugby. If you are Irish and feel homesick this is the place to be.

Went here to watch the world cup rugby live. It is a busy pub with a good atmosphere. Not too young or too old - a good mix of clientele. The beer was good, the food was pub grub but good.

Friendly bartenders, and good selection of Scandinavian and Irish beers, a glorious wall of single malt whiskies, live music most nights and Tuesday Night Trivia (I dropped in and joined a team that took second place by only one point!). I also had a low-key dinner here one evening: a very good rendition of fish and chips that would meet... More

Called in here for a couple of beers while visiting Gamla Stan. Friendly bar staff and atmosphere, good selection of beers. Didn't eat here but food looked and smelled appetising. If it wasn't for fact we were travelling on the next day and needed to pack etc, we could have settled in for quite a session!

Stumbled across this place while looking for somewhere to watch the FA cup final, big screens, knowledgeable bar staff, would suggest sitting upstairs rather than in the basement, but a great find.

Don't miss the live music here. Wonderful crowd involvement singing along with many American classics. Interesting to be in a bar in Sweden and hear Swedes singing great American songs from the 1960s and 70s. Enjoy a pint and song. Trivia night on Tuesday is fun and challenging as well.

Just after palace's visit, you can go there for a break. Just to drink a beer with a good selection or also to eat. I recomend the fish and chips with the catch of the day, wrap in salmon filet. Original and tasty. On screen sport event, service with smile, and with good timing.

A good bar to drop in if you feel like a pint and listening to some music. They have really good troubadours (the Swedish term - person with guitar to you and me), and the quality of music is really very high. A wild mix of guests, tourists of course, but quite a few actual Irish customers - which is... More

Oh wow.....this place does a damn good burger. And I'm an expert. We found this place on our first night whilst we were walking around Gamla Stan. It doesn't scream and shout from the outside but do try it and you won't be disappointed. It looks like a quite typical British style pub when you go in so we felt... More

Staying in Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen

Neighborhood Profile
Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen
Gamla Stan is Stockholm’s historic old town and home to the Swedish Royal Palace. It’s the most central island of Stockholm and accompanied by the small island of Riddarholmen, mainly known for its famous Riddarholm Church. Gamla Stan tends to be a bit touristy at times but is definitely worth visiting: take a stroll past the well-preserved buildings and through the small (and also Sweden’s narrowest) alleys, which will make you feel like you’ve travelled back in time. This neighborhood offers a great combination of historical buildings and traditional Swedish restaurants.
